I have the same problem, for me its really just the grass that looks dreadful. It occured to me that we all might be looking at long distance textures, and they for some reason will not load the close proximity texture.

and what exactly does anisotropic filtering mean to a person who is a few days new to modding?

you provide the name of the problem, but not the solution. claiming to know the problem without telling us how to fix it is the worst type of response anyone can make in a thread.

He means AF, whether from the game launcher http://i.imgur.com/5TyuVVP.png, an ENB, or Nvidia Control Panel.

However it's a silly suggestion as I've had it on x16 the entire time, and it doesn't fix our particular problem.

PS. Disregard Resolution, I use a different program to handle that.

1. ENB can break AF.

2. Drivers can override and disable Skyrim's AF.

3. You should be running Skyrim's textures on the highest setting.

4. LOD Bias in your drivers should be 0.000.

5. If you use too much RAM or VRAM, LOD textures won't load correctly. If you have 1GB or less of VRAM, or 4GB or less RAM, give up on having a lot of HD textures.

6. Grass ini tweaks are almost all unstable and shouldn't be used.

7. Using 3rd party antialiasing, especially supersampling, FXAA, or Q, can blur your textures if they conflict with an engine shader.

8. Disable overlays like Afterburner or the Steam Community.

Why is your resolution 800x450?

"PS. Disregard Resolution, I use a different program to handle that."

It's a bug, I use Nvidia GeForce Experience to optimize some settings, and the resolution on my LED HDTV is not recognized by the game launcher for some reason, so NGE forces it, or I do via the SkyrimPrefs.ini

The OP's problem probably has something to do with the textures he installed. CapNKirkland's problem is entirely different and has to do with the way grass mods were designed (ie not with ENBs in mind) and are brighter than they should be. This is exacerbated by rainy days and custom Climates of Tamriel weathers. You can either darken the grass files manually or you're stuck with this on rainy days.

None of this is relevant and/or true.
