Pellape
Run the program as Administrator. Right Click it, Properties and click always run as administrator. I do recommend Wrye Bash, specially for the Bashed patch. Wrye Bash is the first mod manager that was made and it is still updated and supported by Wrye after all these years and I think the first version came out 17 years ago. It doesn't mean you have to stick to a single mod manager but what the patch do is making all mods to work together, like levelists and stuff like that. And you run that program as admin as well. amogus112112
I did run it as administrator but it failed even though I was the administrator of my laptop. I tried Wrye Bash prior to OBMM but it doesn't recognize that I have oblivion on my PC and there is no way for me to link the path manually Edited June 1, 2021 by amogus112112
Pellape
Then it is something odd with your Oblivion installation I guess. I do not know anything about Xbox Ultimate Gamepass really nor what it is. I use the GOG version. Those programs do read the registry. Oblivion get the keys stored in different places on Win 7 and Win 10. Someone did add a tutorial somewhere here not long ago how to make Gecko to work, by adding the keys from Win 7 and prior, as that is where Gecko is searching. Wry Bash nor OBMM have no problems reading the keys in WIn 10 though. Those registry keys gets added in your computers registry with a successful installation of the game. To check if the keys are there: Run Regedit (Just type it in your search box in windows) and go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion If you run Win 7 or older, check: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion
KatsAwful
OBMM is and will forever be incompatible with the GamePass version of Oblivion. It has also been dead for 10 years and there's significantly better mod managers out there. The only mod manager that currently works with the Game Pass version is Wrye Bash

Pellape
Well create those keys with regedit and be sure you put your paths inside the keys and see what happens. Peek at this thread how to do it. It is those keys that are used which I am 98% sure of. If you wanna do it manually: Rightclick in the right window and choose String Value and name it Installed Path And the path you add is the path to your game, like this: X:\Your Path\oblivion/ Be sure to end it with a / And you use the paths in Regedit that I described in the earlier message but check them first as you did not report you had checked them even... Pellape
By the way. Wrye is sitting in his Wrye Bash Discord and just waiting for you to pop up and ask how to make Wrye Bash work for your version of Oblivion. He do have a team there helping him answer questions. I popped in there a couple of months ago and asked him if he had one of my old mods that I wasted and that is not available any longer as one example as I knew he used to use it or at least promote it and got a quick answer within a day. - Well no wonder it took a day as he did search through his old drives... The support is great and have been so for 17 years now so take the advantage of using it and get help direct from the pros. Pellape
The reason he is using Discord and not Nexus forums is because Wrye Bash is a multi tool, made for all games that works similar to Oblivion, like Morrowind where it started, Fall Out, Skyrim and you name it so instead of supporting it all over the places he did choose only one single place or rather 2 as he do have a forum as well that supports all the games but start at the Dscord link. KatsAwful
You need wr OBMM is and will forever be incompatible with the GamePass version of Oblivion. The GamePass version is only supported by Wrye Bash and still has issues. It is not a normal Windows app and will never have a registry entry. You're best off buying the game on another platform
