Custom follower tutorial help

Hi, so ok, i've already seen like 100 of custom follower tutorials and none seem to be able to give me a good explanation on how i'm supposed to make a follower if i want that follower to have anything but vanilla appearance.

I know how to make a follower just fine, i've managed to get them working in game. My issue is if i want to give them apache hair, or bella cosmetics or enhance character editor body.

What i've managed so far is to get a dark elf follower i've been working on with a general body/weight and even some of the apache hairs working, but the facial structure is nothing like what i wanted, and no makeup. What i did was loaded up a save game, went into Showracemenu, created the character i wanted for a follower, and exported the settings via "SPF Charname" then after i loaded up CK to make the follower and got to the end to import the appearance. It only imports vanilla stuff. When i first start up CK i figured, well all i should theoretically have to do is load up the mods that have those features i want, like the apache hair esm, and the enhanced character edit esp, but it keeps telling me "multiple masters selected for load. Operation aborted"

i'm getting a little annoyed here and am unable to find anything that shows me what i'm supposed to do

You can make a character in game using the showracemenu on the race you want (even custom race) and export that data to an .npc file which you can import into the CK and making a follower out of it. Of course load all the required files into CK that you will use.

Some more info here on exactly (more like a more-or-less description) how it's done;

http://www.pixeledvixens.com/2013/02/skyrim-how-to-create-new-character.html (you can ignore this whole creating new preset stuff, it's just create and import into CK for you to copy the looks)

Edit... I just read that through and that guide is a bit crap..

What you need to do is go in game open console and open the showracemenu

Make your character, with whatever you want

When done save, give name, etc, open console again

Type 'spf mycustomfollowername'

This will create an file under that name in your skyrim folder

In the CK in your followers details on the Character Gen Parts click on Import, and import your created npc file

It will look a bit different in CK then in game, mainly because not all your mods have been loaded (because you dont want unnecessary stuff as master)
