I know you have heard it before - No more Skyrim DLC's

I know this topic is kind of old now, but is anyone still really really really let down that there won't be anymore DLC content for Skyrim? I would rather have more effort on Skyrim DLC content than an Elder Scrolls online game, but I know not many share that opinion with me.

Is there any news that would cheer up a fellow Elder Scrolls fan?

I would love to see more skyrim expansions rather than DLC I wish they did hammerfell as an expansion to contrast skyrim snowy environment, as for elder scrolls online there is no relation with stop making skyrim dlc and it´s development, ESO is being made by another team called zenimax online and skyrim was made by Bethesda softworks, two different teams, they stopped skrim DLC because they will most likely focus on fallout 4 and after that give it like 2 or 3 more years and we will hear about elder scrolls VI

The Online team is a different division in the company and does not work on Skyrim at all. The group that works on Skyrim had finished up with the DLCs quite a while ago, and only a few finishing touches were being put in just before each one was released. What we have now is all of the DLCs they had scheduled for Skyrim. The Skyrim developers have already moved on to work on completing the next Fallout (rumored release around October next year with maybe an announcement at the E3 game convention this week) or to work on the early work for the next Elder Scrolls.

Meanwhile, No more official DLCs means no more big game wrecking changes for the modders - who are now free to take on bigger more complex quest mods and the kind of things that might have been wrecked by more DLCs There was a very good crossbow mod that came out just before crossbows were introduced by a DLC - But no one used it because the crossbows in the DLC worked differently and they were incompatible with the mod. Modders have been shying away from anything game changing because they knew it could easily be wasted work if Beth did something in a DLC that made their hard work a waste of time.

Just don't expect these massive new quest mods to suddenly appear overnight - they take a long time to make - and some took nearly 2 years on Oblivion. But others started to show at about 3 to 4 months after the last Oblivion DLC & major Patch.

And many times modders do a much better job. That is a very good perspective I didn't even consider
