Deleted2838758User
Not including a few books, all the other books in Skyrim are useless, so I yhought if some ideas to reward those who read books and learn from them.- Almost every book increases your speech by a bit- Some books will grant unique Perks that you can't obtain otherwise (new custom, minor perks like 5% increased fire spells damage)- Add books from old TES games- Some books allow you to learn the properties of some alchemy ingredients Thoughts ? Doeetfgt
Definitely want.I'm an avid reader/writer, and I even have a playthrough scholar character dedicated to collecting books and other artifacts. I think that would be an amazing thing to do, and if any proof-reading or writing must be done, I'd be glad to help. I think there should also be books that help in relation to certain quests, tho subtly : as in, not a book that spells ''Bear claws and giant's toes = money'' but information integrated into a story in some way (which I am more than willing to write!) The books should not break immersion by mentioning gameplay mechanics or any such things.

The books should not break immersion by mentioning gameplay mechanics or any such things.I'm not going to write any book of my own, I will just use the vanilla books and make them more interesting without breaking immersionFor example if the player reads a book about a story or a tale, he will gain a bit of XP in the speechcraft skillIf he reads a book about light armor, he will gains a bit of XP in the light armor skill and perhaps a minor bonus like +3% armor. It is minor, but a player who reads a lot will have a lot of bonuses. Here the ideas I have for books :- Help in some quests (for example a book may contain hints about where a place is located)- Add new quests- Minor bonuses- Speechcraft bonus- Unlock an ingredient's properties- Show some locations Edited June 11, 2013 by Guest
jackowonderful
there's a cool mod already that gives you speech for most books when read.
drakshdw
there's a cool mod already that gives you speech for most books when read.At that same token there are a bunch of mods that change the model of Glass armor. Doesn't make each mod less than the next one.--- I support this idea and will happily help out if you want. I've got a bunch of free time to do nothing but play Skyrim and (hopefully) help modders. babachele
While I have no interest in helping to add new quests, I would be perfectly happy to introduce a script that dynamically does the following for you: -Minor Bonuses-Speechcraft Bonus-Unlock n ingredient's properties-Show Some Locations-Add Perks-Integrate Books from Previous TESIV games. All I would need from you is the changes you want made in plain English, or possibly an organized excel sheet. (Like, how much each Book is supposed to raise your speechcraft, what other bonuses are to be applied, etc. ) My scripting method should ensure that the mod would be compatible with just about all other mods that modify Books. I'd prefer doing it alone because it is also a way for me to test my modding skills. Also, this is jus an idea right now as I must finish my 2h mod first there's a cool mod already that gives you speech for most books when read. Same as abovethere's a cool mod already that gives you speech for most books when read. And there is 100 female bodies mod...
