Skipjack647
Hello. Noob modder here. I have noticed when entering the Strip that it is very desolate, except for TV Robots, Some vendors, a few NCR MPs, and some troopers. Really, why isn't the Strip packed!? Why? Well, i was thinking about a more populated Strip, so isearched on the Nexus to see if they were there already. And, there us a Populated Strip and Populated Casinos mod, but nothing about the NCR troopers being there. So i had the idea of a NCR population mod that increased NCR activity there. So, before i did this, i added some NCR Veteran Rangers on Lucky 38. All on the steps going to the entrance, Two on one step, on either side. I also added some Veteran Rangers guarding like bouncers to The Tops, Gomorrah, and Ultra Luxes. In addition, there Troopers, Rangers, Veteran Rangers, and MPs walking around, i also added Mostly Troopers to the Casinos, but some rangers and Vets. And, just because i thought it would be cool to Spice up my Lucky 38, i not only added the Veteran Rangers to the stairs going to the entrance, i also added some in a small corner to the left of it. And, last but certainly not least, i added Gorjira, the cut Fire Gecko, to a small golden path thing to the left of the stairs. If you dont understand, ill say this to help. If you enter the Strip, go forward and turn right, meaning you will be facing directly at the lucky 38, there will be some stairs going to the entrance, and immediately to the right of the stairs, there is a small golden path-thing, literally on the other side of the left handrail. I can try to get a video up, but i dont know if there a size restriction to the thread, so if anyone can help me on putting a vid up, PM me and i will definitely put one up. I just thought it would be cool to add NCR Population to the Strip, and it would also be cool for the population to increase the farther you go into the storyline, like add more troopers, more ranger, introduce The Vets after they are fully integrated into the Mojave, etc. Thanks for reading. So i had the idea of a NCR population mod that increased NCR activity there. We're doing something similar in the An independent New Vegas mod, but only *if* the NCR annex NV. The reason there aren't more NCR on the strip, is that House doesn't want a huge military presence inside his city. He's fine with off duty military spending caps at the casino, but House knows the NCR wants to annex NV (jewel of the Mojave). The last thing he's going to do is grant his blessings to a large foreign military presence on his doorstep. And, just because i thought it would be cool to Spice up my Lucky 38, i not only added the Veteran Rangers to the stairs going to the entrance, The Ranger Vets are like the NCR's version of Seals, Recon, US Rangers etc all rolled into one, you may want to be more judicious in their use......as opposed to making them bouncers of a casino. And, last but certainly not least, i added Gorjira, the cut Fire Gecko, to a small golden path thing to the left of the stairs. Probably not the way to go....... I can try to get a video up, but i dont know if there a size restriction to the thread, so if anyone can help me on putting a vid up, PM me and i will definitely put one up. You'll be linking to youtube most likely, not loading a video up here to nexus. Grab fraps if you ok with 30 seconds of vid or want to buy it. Alternately you can try some other vid capture programs like cam studio, BSR screen recorder, VHScrCap etc. Once you upload it to youtube you can link it here to nexus. I just thought it would be cool to add NCR Population to the Strip, and it would also be cool for the population to increase the farther you go into the storyline, like add more troopers, more ranger, introduce The Vets after they are fully integrated into the Mojave, etc. Thanks for reading. *If* it makes sense in re: to the story line. So you may want to work on that angle of your mod, since it's quite a bit more complicated than just dropping in NCR. Check out some of the end quests (vHDBattleController, VHDHouseBattle, VHDIndependentBattle) and VStoryEvent globals like VStoryEventMrHouseNeutralized to see how to make the changes you want make sense in regard to New Vegas's story line and quests. I just added Gorjira to be funny,I even added him to the Couriers faction,NCR,and The Strip.I have him restrained where i spawned him so it looks like he is guarding the Lucky 38,like he is Houses personal guardian.I thought i would create a backstory to Gorjirra, but i guess i would leave to the modder who makes this.I added the Veteran Rangers to show my freaking love for em,I added them to be like bouncers because I thought this would be good for a player who is Idolized with the NCR. If you are that good with the NCR that they IDOLIZE YOU,then i think they would give you something better than a really buggy radio for you to call in a bugy amo drop,a trooper or ranger. But,then again, People are always saying NCR is spread thin,so yeah. The vetaeran rangers guarding the Lucky 38 wre just to make it look cool.I should have said that.Gorjiira too,but i think it would be cool if he had a backstory, Like he was Houses pet before the War,and he got mutated or something. I have Fraps but my video card is only a NVIDIA GTS 250,its not the greatest,i mean it can play on ULTRA just fine, but you can get some lag,so playng on High makes it smooth(not much o a difference than ultra really),So i dont know if fraps would significantly slow it down or what. devinpatterson
Well havn't had any real hit from FRAPS, but I'v got a ghetto SLI setup and record at low rez (so it doesn't take an eternity to UL), so I'm not likely to notice it. Well if your not going to make the mod yourself you should hop over to this thread, because that's what we're doing (at least one of the endings is NCR more populated), and contribute any ideas you have.
