tiggerdyret
I can't seem to optimize my vanilla none-texture BSAs with BSAsopt. When i follow this guide http://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:BSA_E...cking_BSAs I get a BSA that is only 340kb big? It seems like it just makes an empty BSA. What am i doing wrong? prod80
why would you do that in the first place? It just makes the game uglier? I mean to optimize them...Some performance issue you struggle with - or does it have another background? If you just unpack them, then the bsa archive (it's kinda like a zip archive) will get extracted and the files it contained will be placed as loose files in your skyrim\data directory. tiggerdyret
The step guide recommends using the none-textures files as bsa, because they load faster. I fixing my problem by using ddsopt instead.
steve40
I always use BSAopt to pack the loose files from downloaded mods into a BSA if it hasn't been done already. It makes for safer installation/uninstallation and also saves some disk space. Never had any issues with that program, but the interface is a bit clunky and it took me several tries to get the hang of it.
