konlo
Hello. A strange thing has happened to my Oblivion.First of all, I have oblivion on steam, so it is very easy to get mods.So anyway, I'm looking for a mod that advances oblivion's disease system.I find one on File Planet called Vector_001 and a forum to accompany it. It is a beta of a mod that fits perfectly to what I was looking for.No one in the forum complains about it, so I download Vector_001. It works very well. A few weeks later..I find a file that has been hidden (may or may not still be) on Oblivion Nexus. called Vector_0b3 or something similar.I eventually find this file off the nexus and download it and replace Vector_001 with it. It does much the same thing but is more advanced, and gives me a warning message saying I need a OBSE plugin called Conscribe. I try to get this plugin but the mod doesn't recognize it, not that its important. The mod works fine. A few months later..I re-install oblivion and it brings back my mods, as it always does. So I download a few mods and get a problem... Crashes in the market district, sound is always accompanied by lag/crashes, cant enter doors/talk to people without crashes, so I look at the Oblivion Bug Fix page on Oblivion Wiki. I cant find a real answer, so I start turning off mods one by one to see which one changes things. I turn of Vector_0b3 and I start oblivion, it crashes. The only way to fix it is to re-enable vector. My copy of oblivion had became dependent on this mod. I didn't know that was possible. Anyway, I eventually diagnosed my problem as a Corrupt Oblivion.esm caused by a mod that adds a small store in the market district. I still can not disable or remove Vector without consequences. Anyone have an answer to a problem like this?
Lanceor
Vector has uninstallation instructions in the ReadMe. It's actually your savegame and not your copy of Oblivion that has become dependent on Vector. It shouldn't be possible to corrupt Oblivion.esm so I don't think that's the problem but in the rare instance that it IS corrupted, Verify Game Cache in Steam will redownload it for you. Thanks, I am not very mod savvy in oblivion. I have been able to remove Vector from oblivion without causing any more crashes.I still have a problem with my other mod causing crashes when I go into market district, but I am trying to fix that.
