followers "follow me" or "it's time to part ways"

hey i use UFO and i am having difficulties with certain followers. when i tell them to follow me they say something like "sure ok" but they don't actually start following me. when i talk to them again it still shows the follow me dialogue option. on another follower i'm having a similar issue where i can't get the follow me dialogue to show up. instead it just says "it's time for us to part ways" but no matter how many times i click the option it won't work. to make matters even wierder this follower isn't actually following me. sometimes when i click the part ways option the upper left corner of the screen confirms they have left my service but STILL NO CHANGE. follow me option does not present itself and it still shows "it's time for us to part ways" in it's place. also so far this issue is limited to a small number of modded followers. not all of my mod followers are like this, so far just 4.

Did you follow the instructions for fail-safe install? It sounds to me like there was a problem with installation, or that you attempted to remove the mod without following the mod's specific uninstall instructions at some point.

In either of those cases, you will probably need to return to a save from before you first added UFO and try to add it properly. (O return to a time before you removed it and then follow the author's removal instructions.)

If none of that is the case with you, I would look at whether UFO is compatible with your mods and DLCs.

I used to use UFO and loved it, but had to change to AFT because UFO was not being updated. AFT works very well with the new mods and DLCs.

 

If you decide to try to switch, though, I would caution you that mods that affect scripting, such as UFO, cannot be completely removed even when following the mod authors instructions to the letter--it is a problem with the game engine. So you can try to remove it and add AFT instead, but you may have to either start a new game, or return to a save from before you first added UFO.
