For the past 4 days ever since Thursday night I have been unable to access the Skyrim nexus site.

The site continuously gives me The connection has timed out error.

The server at www.skyrim.nexusmods.com is taking too long to respond.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

I am using the most updated version of Firefox and have checked my antivirus as well and it is neither of those. Also my Nexus Mod Manager cannot connect either. Some have told me its just the weekend rush the hours of day have not effected anything all i continue getting is the same errors. Could anyone help identify the problem or maybe give me some input on the situation as my friends have still been able to access the site as well as download files. If I have been banned (Which I would have no clue why that would occur) could I please be given a reason if that was in fact the case? This is also my trace log for the mod manager.

I currently just tried both of your suggestions but still the same page loading error. I can load the other mod page such as new vegas and the others I just cannot access Skyrim. I also tried changing my DNS and cleared my cache, cookies and history as well but to no avail. I hope I can figure this out soon it is somewhat frustrating:(.

A couple of things to try. Hit start and in the search box type CMD and then hit enter, at the prompt type tracert skyrim.nexusmods.com and hit enter, that should show the hops on the way to the site and show where it's timing out. If it's an issue with your ISP there are a couple of ways around it, one is to install Opera and enable "Turbo Mode", with Turbo Mode enabled Opera will request the pages and then send them to you from their servers, great for getting anything your ISP has blocked or won't access. The other thing to try would be a VPN, this is free (half hour on, half hour off) https://www.vpnreactor.com/default.aspx

The Skyrim nexus is swamped - we nearly doubled our membership since it was released and the numbers just keep increasing. We are getting a lot of people who are new to modding or refugees from Steam Workshop and other sites joining, and nearly all are on the Skyrim downloads. It is being worked on, but this is not something that we can fix overnight.
