TheWanderer001
I've finished my mod and am packaging it up for release but...With all the files loose everything worked perfectly...So I've made a BSA for the assets... everything works except... no quest markers ! I've checked in console with sqv and everything looks okay... no missing aliases. Anyone with any idea what I could have missed? TheWanderer001
Okay I extracted everything back out of the bsa so it's back to all loose files... and guess what now even with all loose file no bloody quest markers!!! All this was so simple with Morrowind  Edited June 22, 2021 by TheWanderer001
IsharaMeradin
Check other quests not associated with your mod. Do they have quest markers? If not, check your settings. It is possible that quest markers were disabled.
TheWanderer001
I've started a new game setup... no other quests installed.... and starting from a new game each time I test. Okay checked... quest markers are not disabled. All quest markers were working...then all I did was pack everything into a bsa... remove the loose files... no quest markersthen unpacked the same files from the bsa... again no quest markers. IsharaMeradin
Make sure that you have all necessary files. It may be possible that a file was missed when packing the BSA and then removed thinking that it was in the BSA. The Creation Kit's built-in BSA packer is notorious for including things it shouldn't and not including things it should.
TheWanderer001
I can't find anything I may have missed :( And everything else appears to work... except the quest markers... all the dialogue... all the other bits of extra scripting such as displaying map markers at the right time etc. all work as expected. Is there somewhere quest marker information is stored ? as I'm working with a new setup... I've even gone as far as to remove all the stored game saves... just in case Bethesda is doing something weird with those.
maxarturo
Did you add the quest's "PEX" and "TIF" script's fragment ? without those you don't actually have a quest and quest markers. If you by any chance have deleted those files, then you need to create your quest from the beginning.
TheWanderer001
As far as I know all "PEX" and "TIF" script's fragment are present and correct. But if I have missed one would everything else still work?I mean the entire quest except quest markers? I have played through the entire quest just to make sure everything else is working... I know where everything is so don't need the markers to find anything :D I've gone in to the ck and recompiled every script/fragment and even reassigned all the aliases and check all the dialogue...found nothing and still no quest markers :wallbash: Edited June 22, 2021 by TheWanderer001
IsharaMeradin
Can you restore the loose files that you removed? Not just unpack the BSA but the actual files that you took out. If you can, restore them and see if the problem persists. If not, I have no further ideas.
TheWanderer001
Yes... restored the actual file... still no quest markers !!!Had copied them all to a seperate location to create the bsa.
