EvanderMistwalker313
Hello all. I was wondering if anyone had a fix for an issue I have. So basically, guards are "pursuing" me and I can't wait or sleep. I can fast travel, but only because I have Unlimited Fast Travel. I did not notice the bug until I tried to wait, and all of my saves were like this. I have tried going to every hold, getting a bounty, and paying it off, to no avail. I have tried using the console to set my bounties in each hold to a high value, and then spending jail time in each too. I think the bug happened right after "No One Escapes Cidhna Mine", I cannot be 100% certain though. I had played about 20 hours after I had done Cidhna mine, and that's when I noticed the bug. In the future I will disable fast travel while being pursued to catch it earlier. Any advice would be wanted. Thank you!
anjenthedog
Hmm... have you tried the obvious solution, which is to let them catch you (not going elsewhere and trying to pay a bounty) and deal with whatever penalty they apply (short of killing you to death) Alternatively, if this is caused by a glitch, you probably won't like my advise, but it's an option I've had to use several times before....Open a save prior to the save in which the glitch first occurred (or is presumed to have occurred), and play on from that point, even if you have to redo a quest. What I (finally) learned a while back was to react to peculiarities as soon as I see them, because continuing to play even after, only exacerbates the issue and usually results in far more "loss" than accepting a small initial loss and fixing the problem by not experiencing the glitch "in the first place". 7531Leonidas
Did you check (in the in-game menu) to see if you have a current bounty on your character? You could try to use the 'paycrimegold' console command (https://skyrimcommands.com/command/paycrimegold). 1. Get close enough to see a pursuing guard.2. Activate the console.3. Place your cursor over the guard, and click on the guard. A refID number should show up.4. Then use the paycrimegold command as per the instructions at the URL above. There are also resources that show the refIDs for the various factions, you could try the command on each one in turn. Be aware, one resource tells you to get your gold off of you before you use the paycrimegold command. I'm not sure this is right, but now you know... anjenthedog
Yeah, nine times out of ten when I've screwed up and found myself on their hit list, the bounty is like 25 gold or 50 gold....big whoop. pay the man and move on. I suppose if you're a thief, that could be problematic, but all my booty is looted off dead enemies.

Grab a basket, head on over to the dungeon, give the bored guard his party hat (hide his face under the basket), then loot the confiscated goods.
