BrainFever
OK, here's what I 've done step by step. I installed all 3 parts of NMC's texture pack for NMM(Large), toggled off/on Archive Invalidation option in Tools section of NMM, ran the game to see if everything is ok and everything was fine indeed. Then I installed MG's Neat Clutter Retexture mod and I overwrote everything from NMC that I was prompted to. In-game everything seems fine on exterior places but, interiors are a mess. Missing wall textures, black ceilings/floors, etc. As far as I know MG's NCR retextures only clutter objects, so I can't really tell why would I be missing a wall texture or a ceiling.Tried the same procedure again without having MG's NCR to overwrite not a single file from NMC's texture pack. Problem still the same. Toggled Archive Invalidation off and on again in Tools. Nothing.Tried all the above on FOMM, instead of NMM. Nothing.So....Any leads??? BrainFever
This is with NMC's texture pack only:http://img833.imageshack.us/img833/8569/ocpy.jpg And this is after I install MG's Neat Clutter Retexture(no matter if I overwrite NMC files or not):http://img203.imageshack.us/img203/5739/gjia.jpg Edited June 17, 2013 by BrainFever
BarefootWarrior
Typically when I see this (in my case) it is usually and issue of the textures being placed in the wrong folder, or the install did not create it's own folder as it should have. What I have found, and looking at the screen shots is, this is a case of the mesh not finding the textures it needs or two textures are trying to be placed on the same mesh. Oddly, the red trianlges or flags dont't show up. I don't know if load order would have anything to do with this because NMC's textures over write the game textures and is not in the load order. Take a look at the read me for the MG's clutter mod and see if NMM or FOMM installed it correctly. Might look at the site comments too and see if someone else had this same issue, I'm sure you're not the only one this has happened to. Not much help but I'm sure the solution is probably simple.
BrainFever
At least I need to know that my issue is not the whole Archive Invalidation thingie cause I've seen in some topics that the new patch made the old ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated mod to not work and that I should use the Archive Invalidation option the mod managers offer, then somewhere else my eye caught that NMM's Archive Invalidation doesn't work properly and the story goes on. So....what is the best way right now, in 2013, to solve the archive invalidation matter? I want to be sure that I can safely exclude it from any possible reasons that cause the above textures conflict. BarefootWarrior
I have always used just FOMM myself and the archive invalidation. As much as I hate to say it, I haven't had much luck with NMM.
BrainFever
Ok the following seems to have solved my problem:It got stuck in my head that Archive Invalidation was behind all this so I searched around the net and nexus forums and I found a post here http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/35935/?tab=4&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fcomments%2F%3Fmod_id%3D35935%26page%3D1%26sort%3DDESC%26pid%3D0%26thread_id%3D255381&pUp=1 where user vulcanic suggests to use the ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated.bsa from the Archive Invalidation Invalidated mod for FO3 along with some tweaks on all 3 ini's of NV(default, fallout.ini, fallout_prefs). So I toggled off the Archive Invalidation option in Tools section for both NMM and FOMM, did everything above, installed NMC's texture pack through NMM and then I installed MG's NCR through FOMM(it says to do so in the main page of the mod). Voila! No more missing textures and black walls. Edited June 18, 2013 by BrainFever

dubiousintent
Glad to hear it worked for you. But please note the date of the previous post, and see the Nexus "Terms of Service" about not resurrecting old threads. The original problem is from 5 years ago. The various mod managers have evolved over that time, while the solution mod you found hasn't been touched since 2010 (shortly after the game launched). Always check the comments section of a mod that is new to you. Just something to think about before everyone rushes out to try the latest "old is new again" fix. If you are having trouble with your mesh or texture replacements, please see 'Solutions to Mesh (Red "!" icon) or Texture (solid color) problems' section in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide. -Dubious-
