brokenergy
Hey guys, my brother's desktop computer mysteriously suffered some problems, where his computer stops during the "Memory Testing" during start up. He's using a XP operating system and that's about all I know at this point (don't know the specs). Could any you guys help us to find out what's wrong with it? Thanks! Illiad86
Try re seating the RAM. If that doesn't work, try booting the computer with one stick to rule out if one of them is possibly bad. Where there any problems before this started happening?
brokenergy
Not that I personally know of (I only use that pc it to print notes), but I'll try that approch to see if anything happens. Edit: My brother tells me that it happened last night, where he was transfering files from his harddrive to his microSD card then the computer stopped responding. He closed all the applications but there was no responce and he finally resorted to rebooting the computer. The computer stops during memory testing, nothing happens after that. He removed all the usb to allow it to boot but nothing happened. He'll try resetting the RAM when he has the time. If anyone else has any other ideas please send. Thanks Edit 2: He was able to fix it, thanks you Edited June 18, 2013 by brokenergy
