PlanetSlayer
Could a Dremora be afflicted by one of the several werebeast diseases, (And/or vampirism) such as werewolf, werebear, werevulture, etc?By their nature the werebeast diseases are in the power of the Daedric prince(s), at least one being Hircine. Dremora are technically immortal and belong to a Daedric prince in their own realm. Even though they're immortal, they can still die, in the mortal world, after which they are caught in some sort of nether between the oblivion worlds and Nirn, where they take 1000's of years if not more to reform back into their Oblivion realms. That being said, I do not know for sure, that they're not affected by mortal diseases, they can sort of die in the mortal world after all. So, they are affected by Nirn's laws.My opinion on this is that; for the diseases to work on them, a Daedric prince, like Hircine would have to alter the disease, to affect the dremora. The diseases by their nature, are magical, Dremora have a natural resistance to magic.Correct me, if I'm wrong about this, but aren't Daedric princes, always vying for power with each other, so if Hircine wanted to, he could make a Dremora with the gift of the beast and make it fight with another prince's forces, and possibly afflict another prince's Dremora with the gift of the beast. Here's where it gets tricky, technically any creature's/person's with the gift of the beast soul would belong to Hircine. Now, here's two more questions;Do Dremora, even have souls?Would another prince's Dremora, who was afflicted by the gift of the beast, then belong to Hircine? blacksupernova
Hircine already created a weredaedroth by inflicting daedroth he summoned with lycanthropy. since daedroth is also daedra, it could possibly means dremora could be inflicted with the disease as well.Dremora have soul, otherwise, Bethesda would make them immune to Soul Trap like automatons which are soulless. Foulfrost
Cool, thankyou. That's good to know. What kind of souls do they usually have in the lore? Black? Grand?Back in Morrowind, you could steal a summoned Daedra's soul and they were grand souls, white ones. Lorewise though, I'm not sure. On the topic itself. Daedra do have souls but I doubt Hircine would be able to fashion a variant of the disease to afflict every possible variety of daedra. Daedra aren't like mortals, so their souls don't go to Hircine's realm or belong to him when they're destroyed. They go back to oblivion awaiting rebirth. I also don't really think one daedra could pass the disease on to another as mortals can. It's also hazy, Hircine can personally afflict a daedra with a werebeast affliction but I doubt it would be passed on.
WTSherman
I've been looking to unload my ring of hircine, but have also considered going on a rampage!
Deleted1308005User
Mmm.. Aren't dremora kinda associated to Mehrunes Dagon? Other Daedric princes have different servants. Hircine has manbeasts, Sheogorath has golden saints and dark seducers, Jyggalag has the crystal order guys, Hermaeus Mora has seekers and so on. Also, Dremoras are sort-of immortal. If you kill one, it gets banished back to Oblivion. This however, is a bit silly. Considering the fact you can soul trap them and take their hearts.(Or well, looting heart makes sense. Mind is immortal but body can die, however soul trapping is weird)
