Can we change our adult lives with what has been learned?

Changing a Mind.

I recommend that this movie be shown in Health Class in Middle School. Because it is a movie that is as important for young girls and boys as well. If I were a teacher I would give any parents with children with Downs Syndrome an A+ for watching this documentary called, Changing a Mind.

After nine years of trial and error and fighting the current medical philosophy, a mother does the impossible. She finds a treatment for Down Syndrome, reversing the damage and substantially increasing her child's IQ and quality of life.

After two years of remarkable progress with her own son, she shares her new discovery with other parents and begins a small study. The results are spectacular.

Each child is not only learning new skills and new abilities, but are experiencing new social life.

The oldest child, at twenty five years old, has come back from the world of Alzheimer's in only eight months. Are our parents, are we, suffering needlessly from Alzheimer's disease?

After the group has success with their own children, born with Down Syndrome, researchers at Standford University's Down Syndrome Research Center, applaud her and their work and begin the process of clinical trials to prove the efficacy of her new protocol that the woman shared with her.

This could mean a break through with Alzheimer's Disease if treated early.

If you have an child or there is an adult who has begun to show they have the symptoms of Alzheimer's should we join in this effort to find out if we stop and even can reverse Alzheimer's and Downs Syndrome by preventive action?

While it looks and sounds VERY promising, I'm alsways EXTREMELY wary of "miracle cures". There are far too many times in medical history that these things can either go horribly wrong after clinical trials, or they become dangerous "fad's" or 'crazes" because they are used inappropriately or unethically and end up doing more harm than good.

Lithium for instance has shown a great deal of efficacy in aiding people with mental disorders, however if prescribed incorectly or too flippantly it can be deadly. Vanadium was shown to be an excellent spermicide, without any of the bad side effects (such as dissolving fatty tissue, leading to infections) But it's still unknown what, if any, long term effect it's use may have.

The human body (and brain) are extremely complex, and almost indescribably varied from person to person, so long, LONG careful and comprehensive in depth trials should always be the prelude to any new treatment.

Do you know if you have begun to suffer from Alzheimer's Disease? Do you have someone living with you that seems to be having problems?

The problems with all, over the counter, none prescription products, health food stores stock as well, is how much do you need to eat?

How tall are you? How much do you weigh? Do you exercise regularly? How much do you need to add to your diet compared to someone bigger or smaller than your self?

Do you know what to be aware of, and look for, so you recognize Down Syndrome symptoms? Do you know that Alzheimer's is so similar to Down Syndrome that the same simple nutritional fatty acids we get from Liver and Cod Liver Oil can prevent it? How much Ginko Biloba is enough a day for someone of your weight, height, and level of physical activities?

Do you follow the weekly dietary pyramid which includes Liver and Onions once a week, fish and potato's once a week, with a side salad? Do you include beverages of milk, red wine, burbon, whisky and others along with meals with heavy meats like beef or ham or turkey with side dishes like corn, peas, green beans along with mashed potato's and gravy?

Are you truly conscious of all that you need to have a healthy mind and body?

If you could prevent and assure yourself you could would you start eating properly so you keep from losing your brain functions; without any doubt? If you don't eat a balanced weekly dietitians plan would you take a vitamin and mineral combination once a day, to keep yourself from losing important brain functions?

Would you?

Do you really care about your health mental and physical well being; enough?
