Tidus44
quadrumanous; having four feet with opposable first digits, as in primates other than man. I just realized that if Ragnarok occurs 100 days after the 22nd of January, that's a Friday, May 2nd. Its going to ruin a whole weekend!

Tidus44
Not sure what I was thinking... I also consider that this is the third winter in a row where records for cold and snow fall have been broken and that there has not been much of a summer either (we had a whole week in August with no rain last year) so I suppose I just might be up for a bit of sciamachy (fighting a shadow or an imaginary enemy) come June. Who knows, maybe some of the snow will have melted by then and I won't have to wear a cumbersome parka while swinging a fiery sword. Just so as it isn't this Sunday. Weather says to expect -55C. Aurielius
Demarcation- a dividing line. I always considered -40c to be the demarcation of cold and bloody cold. I remember well having to put a heating blanket on my old Cessana up at Hudson Bay at dusk to prevent the damn oil from freezing solid.
Tidus44
synthetic; pertaining to compounds formed through a chemical process by human agency, as opposed to those of natural origin. I run synthetic oil in vehicles in engine and transfer cases, usually 0W30 winter, 5W30 rest of the time. Never freezes no matter how cold. Only thing was I put the brake "on" for the snowmobile when I parked it, now its frozen "on" and won't release. I'll be using a come-along to drag it into the garage later today and see if I can thaw it a bit.
Aurielius
I forgot to mention frosted plugs, lack of firing start after -25c and the seat temperature being fit for Inuit or a Polar bear....no...I don't miss that one bit.
Tidus44
The 89 year old man entered the jewelry store just before closing on Friday with a drop dead gorgeous 25 year old girl on his arm. "Show me your best engagement ring.", he said. The clerk showed him a ring worth $20,000.00. The old man asked to see a better ring, so the clerk pulled out a $40,000.00 ring. "I'll take that one.", the old man said, "But, all I have is a check, so you can check it out and I'll pick the ring up Monday.".On Monday the clerk calls the old man and yells, "Your check is worthless!" "Not really", said the old man, "it paid for the best weekend of my life.". gamomania; the urge to make extravagant wedding proposals.
