Ryuukage0101
So just a basic question. Why is there a fps cap' at 30? in the unmodded version of the game?Or was it just an unfortunet bug that people got. I mean, I see more then alot of people who complain about it.Me, I manage to fix it trhu the stutter remover mod.
JimboUK
There isn't a 30 cap as far as I know, mine runs at 60. The Stutter Remover can cap it but that's easily fixed.
Ryuukage0101
Its you <3 you were the one who told me how to fix my fps!Anyhow if you look in the fallout.ini file (unmodded). my was set to Maxfps 30. which is just weird, I can understand if it was 30 all the time ( nothing more nothing less). But for the most people the fps wander up'n'down. Edited June 21, 2013 by Ryuukage0101
JimboUK
That's very strange, I assume Vsync caps mine. The oddities of Gamebryo, it's wonders never cease.
Ryuukage0101
And even now with mods ( got like 80 of them), my fps still wander up'n'down sometimes I have like 15 ; when there are lost of stuff going on I assume , and up to 100+ fps when I just stand still and watch the sunset. rickerhk
If your vertical sync is turned off (iPresentInterval in the ini file), you should cap FPS no higher than 60. The game was designed to run at 60 fps.Though if you have drops all the way to 15, then capping it at 30 with the stutter remover ini (the default setting for that) might be a good idea. Most people can't detect the difference between 30 FPS and 3000 FPS anyway.
luthienanarion
The engine actually runs at 64 hertz, which causes you to lose 4 frames every second at 60 FPS. This is the "microstutter" that is fixed by NVSR.
