CTD while loading.

I am having occasional CTD while loading. It doesn't happen all the time, and usually doesn't happen when quicksaving and quickloading (without having to load a new zone)

 

PC specs:

FX-8350

8GB RAM

500gb HD 7200rpm

HD7870 OC 2gb

I have also edited my .ini Could that be doing anything?

 

I run ENB but have a frame rate between 38-52. Depending on the location.

if it's just an occasional CTD, it could be one the mods that you've installed that caused the errors so i recommend you install TES5EDIT run it, and if any mod says error loading on right side of the app you must uninstall the mod and check of the plugin which shouldn't be to hard but if it is the reason for the crashes i suggest you first check of the plugin,wait a hour or two then uninstall the mod itself. Hope this helped.

Thanks for the response. I will try that.

 

I am also thinking that I could be running out of VRAM, hence why when switching to new areas it hits the limit and burns. I've run a texture optimizer (bringing all my 2048x2048 textures down to 1024x1024) hopefully that helps. Will try what you said after :smile:

 

EDIT: Did a two hour play test saving, playing saving, quicksaving, playing, loading etc. No crashes. It appears that the VRAM limit was my problem.
