LokilokiTwo
I originally subscribed to several mods via the Steam workshop because I didn't understand how NMM worked. Later I figured out what NMM could do and the rest of my mods were taken with this NMM tool. My question is this: Does Skyrim only play from the NMM list of mods or do the subscribed mods from the Steam workshop also work at the same time? Those mods I found in the Steam workshop that also were available using NMM I elected to use NMM. However, I still have 30+ Steam workshop mods selected because the mod authors did not make them available in NMM. At some point I will look at BOSS or some other downloading tool because using NMM you don't get to make any choices but are stuck with the mod's vanilla configuration. But that's for another day. So, are all of my mod selections working or not. I am launching the game via the skse_loader.exe. Thanks again!
bcofer
Open NMM, top left is the "Plugins" tab. Check box for downloaded Steam mod, if unchecked. Same as if you manually downloaded mod. I stopped using Steam for most mods when it kept re-checking mods I had unchecked and updating them without asking. There may be an easier way, but the only one I found was log back into Steam, search for the mod, and unsubscribe or endorse or whatever they called it. Vaelka
Yes, you can use mods from both Steam and NMM. Just make sure that the .esps are checked in your load order.
ripple
The Steam Workshop subscription is not a real mod manager. Using it can actually cause permanent damage to your save games for the reasons that bcofer mentioned (it will also uninstall subscribed mods from your game without your consent if those mods are removed from the Workshop). I recommend you find Nexus versions of the mods you subscribed from the Steam Workshop, download them, unsubscribe the Steam Workshop versions, the install the Nexus versions. After that, use the NMM to manage your mod un/installation exclusively.
LokilokiTwo
Thanks for your help. I recently subscribed to Ogmund's Tomb in the Steam workshop (because NMM wasn't carrying it) and sure enough the .esp for it is showing up in the NMM plug-ins list.
