ProjectDv2
Quoted this because I thought it was such a lovely response from a forum moderator. Like, seriously? Rolling your eyes in a post loaded with sarcasm isn't really appropiate. You read my mind, GH. This instantly put me off, as well. When something does not work for you, but does work for nearly everyone else, that does not make it broken. By that logic, because almost every other car is puttering along just fine, then obviously my head gasket isn't broken. Dude, when a program doesn't work properly, it's broken. That doesn't mean that every iteration of it is broken, it means that this particular one is, be it by glitch or user error. Don't get defensive, and offensive at that. It makes you look like a truly poor mod. Now that I've said my piece, I'm here for a very similar reason as a few others, NMM isn't recognizing NVSE for me. I installed it with NMM off, opened it up, doesn't appear in the dropdown. Uninstalled it, opened NMM, installed it, it wasn't there (didn't expect it to be), closed it, reopened it, still isn't there. I've double- and triple-checked the installation instructions (which are about as simple as they can get), and I've done everything right. It works fine when I run it manually, NMM just refuses to recognize it. Dunno if a thread about FOSE is necessarily the best place for me to look for help, but seeing as the difference between games and resources is the difference between apples and other apples, and I've not found an answer anywhere else, I figure I have little to lose to necro this thread and hope someone has figured out a fix (or at least a nifty little trick to fool it into falling in-line, I'll settle for one of those). Purr4me
install FOSE as a non-mod program, extract it, copy it directly to the game folder, launch nmm, and now it "should" be recognized by nmm. Don't treat FOSE as a mod because it isn't. DO not expect nmm to install software programs because FOSE is a software program.
progenisis
I've had the same problem on a few occasions, By re-scanning installed games (Button Top right in NMM next to help) fixes it for me.
BelovedPaladin
It's NOT broken - it works fine for everybody else. And if it works for everybody else but not for you that should tell you something. :rolleyes:I don't think you get that option unless you actually have FOSE installed - then it should show if you click on the small arrow just to the right of the 'Launch Fallout3'Once you have selected it the first time, NMM will remember and show it instead of the regular launchHad this same problem, resetting didn't seem to fix the issue. Any tips?Quoted this because I thought it was such a lovely response from a forum moderator. Like, seriously? Rolling your eyes in a post loaded with sarcasm isn't really appropiate. Fixed by reinstalling with nexus open. Didn't seem to work the first time around for some reason. Hasn't worked for me either. That's what 3-4 consecutive cases of it not working as you described? The answer is simply go to your setting and set it up yourself
GundamMerc
Love how the mod said that s#*!, and then literally the thread floods with people having issues.
NorthernLighter
Sorry I am so late to all of this but my issue is that all my nexus mods are attached to my steam version of fallout 3 so when I launch the FOSE version I have no mods on it whatsoever. I launched it through the nexus and still had the same problem. anyone still on this thread id appreciate the help.
Mktavish
It is frowned upon to revive threads this old ... but it wasn't you. So ...Saying you have 2 different places to launch Fo3 is the problem. If you installed steam inside program files , then Fo3 is inside program files. And Program files is governed by the UAC ... which does not like things like FOSE. Therefore you need to get Steam outside of Program Files. And then it should not have a problem with the Fose launcher trying to command it. At least in theory ...
