Jarl Balgruuf the Greater first mission CTD

Hi,

 

I´m playing all over again my modded skyrim and I found a ridiculous bug I can´t compreend on my on. Basically when i talk the first time with Jarl Balgruuf the Greater for the first mission, in the part when he says to send troops for Riverrun immedialty the game always gets CTD, and I don´t know the reason. I´ve played the game before with my current list of mods and no problem was found back then. I have introduced some new mods, like sounds of skyrim and texture and armors mods, but I don´t think the problem has anything to do with that. I tried to disable sounds of skyrim and the problem remains. I also tried to make a save after sleeping during the night, loaded that save and was to the dragonsreach and the problem appeared again. You guys have any idea what kind of problem is this?! Also looked for game´s integrity thought steam and the only files re-downloaded were the master files that were cleaned up for TES-tool, and even using that files raw or cleaned the problem remains!

Have the exact same problem. CTD when speaking to jarl of whiterun first time. Have about 100 mods installed. I can't figure out witch mod is the issue here. Tryed Boss tool and TES tool, everything seems fine (althought theese tools are new to me). Nothing seems to work. Uninstalled mod: better housearls and some and some weaponmods that TES tool didn't like. I'm playing the game all over again, now as the custom race Temptress. TES tool doesn't like temptress armour, so I don't use it. I would prefer not to reinstall Skyrim and/or all theese mods. Someone please help.

@skyrimfan147: After looking at your load order what jumps out at me is that next to a number of your mods there are warning from BOSS such as to obtain compatibility patches, to update to the latest version, to make sure you have the correct body replacing mod installed for certain armors, and warnings about navmesh's missing. Example: Better Quest Objectives.esp Active Warning: This file is out of date. Please obtain the new version. The first thing I would do is go through, read all of those warnings, and do whatever BOSS suggests. That alone could fix your problem.

 

Also, the Unofficial Patches should be above the High Res Texture packs in your load order, not below. Sounds of Skyrim was notorious for crashes in the past and there were many warnings against using it. It seems to have been uploaded again and the problem fixed, but there that could still be the culprit. If Sounds of Skyrim was the culprit and you 'tried to disable it' (I'm not sure what you mean by tried to disable it) there is a chance that a script or something else from that mod is still lingering behind and the only way to completely uninstall it is to start a new game. Finally, Enhanced Blood textures is one of the best, if not the best, blood texture replacer, but it has been known to cause crashes as well. There is no harm in uninstalling or disabling it and seeing if that stops your crashes.

here are the mods both me and the OP both have...it has to be one of those also it is not the unofficial patches since I downloaded them in a attempt to fix this and there was no change and I fixed their load order from my first post to no effect. However I believe it is a load order issue since my problems started when I downloaded some mods that aren't on the combined list below (ubp, ubpb, ubp armor, Black Flame Red Dragonscale, Blue white dragon-1725-1 (its a scale armor texture), and Runed Blood Red Dragonbone Armor-3123-1-0 (also just a texture, no esp)) when these caused problems with my already loaded character I reinstalled the game and I bet the load order is slightly different.

Try to competently remove the HighResTexturePacks and download this instead http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/9080/?. Also try a new game or a new installation of skyrim ( remember to remove the My documents Skyrim folder.

assuming that I was able to remove the texture packets correctly, then that fix did not work. As to the rest of the suggestions, I have reinstalled the game 5 or six times with different changes to what I load and the order in terms of mods and nothing has worked yet. i still believe that the issue is one of load order since I had a stable build until I made the mistake of adding several texture mods and a dragon bone/scale add-on mod. That screwed up my existing character which prompted me to reinstall the game. At that point this issue came up and after several more reinstalls I cant fix it. The only new things are those texture mods which are listed in a previous post and the unofficial patches (note I had the problem before a tried adding them as a solution). I feel that the only way I can get any resolution to this issue will be if someone can look at the papyrus report and tell me what files caused the crash or what files were being accessed since that would help narrow down the culprate mod.
