Georgiegril
You follower has been made essential, either because you created them that way or because of the effect of a mod.If you use a mod like UFO you can easily make them non-essential.You can also simply uncheck the essential box in the CK, if you prefer.I suspect there is a console code as well, I generally avoid using the console as much as possible, though, so I do not know it offhand. There are 3 settings for followers in Skyrim. Essential- This means that nothing can kill them. When they get badly hurt, they fall down and become invulnerable. It's completely impossible to kill them without a mod. Protected- This means that only the player can kill them. Once enemies injure an ally, they fall down and enemies ignore them. AOE damage like traps, fireballs, or the player can still kill them, but standard enemies can't. Normal- This means that the character can be killed normally. If they get hurt and fall down, enemies will kill them, or the player can kill them. Your follower is set as Protected. It's not a bug, it's a feature, and it can easily be changed.
