caseypacific
Hi there, I'm Casey, a first time poster. I'm not too experienced with modding and so I hope you will forgive any dumb questions I ask. My issue is that very few mods seem to work with my game. Solace works with my game, but all of the textures in the house continuously change and glitch. I have tried to play "The Pitt" which I downloaded with my version of fallout, but the handcart is not present in the tunnel. It's just a big red prism with a white coffin shape inside it. When I play Alton, IL, my game gets into a loop. I am in the plane, which again, has no actual image or texture, its a bunch of red prisms and then it crashes and shows the Alton, IL intro. Then it teleports me back to the crash and it loops just the same. Should I uninstall my game entirely and re-install? Is there something I've done wrong data-wise to make this happen? pkleiss
I think you need archive invalidation invalidated. You can download it here: http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/944/? Or - even batter, use the "toggle Invalidation" button in FOMM (fallout mod manager). Don't have FOMM? You should. Get it here: http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/640/? That will definitely fix your texture issues. If you find that you still have those pesky exclamation points, then you must not have installed the mod(s) correctly. Those exclamation points come when the game can't find the resources (meshes and textures) that the model it is trying to display needs. Generally, all mods need to be installed into your \Data folder so that associated meshes end up in the \Data\Meshes folder (and its subfolders) and associated textures end up in the \Data\textures folder (and its subfolders). Makski
I suggest watching Gophers 'Modding Fallout' viseos on Youtube. He shows how to install several of the most popular mods found on the Nexus. the vids are old, but he does have an 'updated' series that's found on his channel. I highly recomend these - I've been modding my game for a coupe of years, & still refer to his vids, Makes the install & setup so much easier. Even if you don't want the mods he shows, the vids give a clear description of how to install & setup a modded game. Hope this helps out!
