Bertilsson
A while back I created a web tool for generating XCom toolboks custom perk tree mods.http://hem.bredband.net/bertrich/XCOM/PerkGen.htmIt is a very basic editor for customizing the standard XCom perk trees and outputs a mod which can be installed using toolboks. Later I created an updated version compatible with amineris Enhanced Perk tree mod v0.91 which increase the number of possible perks to 3 per rank.http://hem.bredband.net/bertrich/XCOM/ExtendedPerkGen.htmThe latest version also includes the Enhanced Perk tree mod v0.91 itself in order to make it easier to use and to avoid conflicts with the built in perk tree editor in toolboks. amineri has also created a newer prototype version of the Enhanced Perk tree mod which is currently only available in Long War mod 1.9 Beta which is not compatible with the installer included in the latest version of the web tool.A Long War 1.9 beta-compatible version without the conflicting installer can be found here:http://hem.bredband.net/bertrich/XCOM/ExtendedPerkGenv097.htm FAQIf toolboks already has a very good built in editor for perk trees, why use an additional tool, that requires toolboks? The web tool is intended to make it easier to plan, design and overview new perk trees. The web tool automatically creates a link to your mods so that they can easily be shared with friends as simple as this: http://hem.bredband.net/bertrich/XCOM/ExtendedPerkGen.htm?seed=00,03,00,00,1f,08,0b,00,09,0f,2f,00,02,23,0a,00,5b,35,27,00,05,10,11,00,0d,00,36,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,12,00,00,2f,21,18,00,20,0f,0b,00,1a,13,16,00,5b,35,19,00,0e,11,27,00,5e,00,5d,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,06,00,00,20,18,21,00,22,0b,25,00,27,1f,23,00,29,35,28,00,2b,5b,05,00,24,00,0e,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,2c,00,00,08,2f,30,00,13,02,25,00,5c,0a,38,00,34,35,33,00,2b,36,11,00,24,00,37,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,45,00,00,00,47,46,00,00,49,48,00,00,4a,00,00,00The web tool is future compatible with the next version of the Enhanced perk tree mod which allows up to 8 different soldier classes. However there are many situations where the toolboks built in editor is a better alternative and I personally would recommend a combination of both depending on what you want to do. Why a different thread for this?Since this is technically not a mod, it is just a web tool for modders, it did not seem logical to upload it as a mod.Since it has no thread of it own it tends to generate more or less off topic discussions in other threads where it becomes very difficult to follow. So let's try to keep discussions and questions regarding these web tools in this thread from now on  Edited June 29, 2013 by Bertilsson
bokauk
Bertilsson, excellent tool as I've mentioned before and it's great to see you continually improving it! I think I saw somewhere that you tested compatibility with the integrated ToolBoks Perk Tree Builder and they both worked ok? Bertilsson
Yes, that is correct, they are now playing nicely with each other :) http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/981018-ui-mod-bigger-perk-tree/?p=8333858
valakov
Bertilsson - said this in another thread, but thanks again for the great tool. perchance is the sniper class tree "default" set up for 1.9 long war beta reversed in some parts, or an older iteration of the 1.9 tree?. disableing shot, snap shot and double tap are showing in perk 3 slot, which if i understand correctly (take sprinter rank 1, perk2) would fall into the scout listings and not the sniper. Battle scanner is in perk 0, therefore only allowed for rank 1, perk 1 squadsight (sniper) class. might be im just looking at it wrong.
Bertilsson
Think of it this way:Perk 0 is sniper onlyPerk 3 is scout onlyThe rest in the middle is available to both scout and sniper. I got the layout from amineri around the time Long War 1.9 beta1 was released, so it is possible there have been changes after that or that some mistakes got in there. If you find anything incorrect, send me link to corrected perktree and I will update it :)
valakov
ack. yeah, so never learned how to shorten links. should be correct for current beta. or not! trying again. ok, once more, with Feeling. http://hem.bredband.net/bertrich/XCOM/ExtendedPerkGenv097.htm?seed=00,03,1f,00,13,5f,0f,13,02,20,00,23,09,0b,17,08,32,21,00,2c,10,05,27,0c,0d,0e,00,2b,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,15,12,00,2f,25,17,2f,1a,20,00,14,5b,21,27,16,00,19,32,10,0a,11,00,5d,00,5e,1b,1d,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,06,24,00,20,5f,2f,0f,22,21,2c,0a,29,28,0b,31,23,27,5c,0c,24,2b,35,32,1f,11,00,36,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,30,18,00,2f,2c,25,13,38,5c,17,67,33,34,0c,2d,00,0a,31,14,1f,32,1b,35,37,00,00,52,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,45,00,00,00,47,46,00,00,49,48,00,00,4a,00,00,00 Edited July 5, 2013 by valakov
johnnylump
The sniper-scout tree is definitely messed up there for Long War's defaults.
Amineri
The sniper-scout tree is definitely messed up there for Long War's defaults. Sorry about the mix-up. I just threw together the listing really quick-like and didn't verify it (stuff is still in flux). The Scout and sniper perk mix-up = 100% my fault. The link of Zybertryx's looks closer, although a little bird told me that the Long War perk tree will be adjusted slightly for the beta5 version. Bertilsson
It is now a perfect 1:1 copy of the perk tree in Long War 1.9 Beta4.(I did the only sensible thing and wrote a script that checked which perks are actually in the file) Edited July 6, 2013 by Bertilsson
Bertilsson
I have now added Merciless 1.5 Beta 5 and Long War 1.9 Beta 5. Edit: And Long War 2.0 http://hem.bredband.net/bertrich/XCOM/ExtendedPerkGenv097.htm Edited September 1, 2013 by Bertilsson
