idea : mini map mod

I don't know if anyone else has thought of this idea or not , or if there is a mod like this that i haven't been able to find. My idea is making the local map on the map screen of the pause/utility menu available and toggle-able during game play in the corner of the screen. Like the mini map feature in many other popular games like Grand Theft Auto, Saints Row, and other free roaming games. i had this idea because i think that would make gameplay more enjoyable; i wouldnt have to pause the game and check my mini map so often as to see where my objective marker is , or to see if i missed the turn, or am still heading in the right direction. it could also be like a radar, to see where or what type of npc's are approaching you, their line of sight, and whether or not they are hostile or friendly. i think it would be a nice addition to the game, it makes it a little more faster paced. the thing is i have no experience making my own mods and i wouldn't know where to start. anyone have any input or advice? anyone is welcome to try and make one . id love to hear about your results.

Because it is:

1 Fantasy

2 Scaleform

Basically, Mardoxx (one the makers' o' SkyUI) is currently making a minimap. Moreover, it is not easy task to get information from the game in the Scaleform API...

Edit: Don't bump so often, there is 'Edit' button, you know.

why not just show the local map as a widget just like A Matter of Time does with the clock? Customazible, simple, and only shows the terrain and gives you a fixed sense of direction (instead of walking in circles for a while before noticing because of obstacles that don't let you quite follow the compass)
