jwgary
So I recently went and modded my skyrim, added the Sharpshooter ENB and started playing the game. One thing i noticed when i got to Riverwood (started over), was a lot of lack of detail when viewing things that were far away, specifically Trees. Heres a picture of what I mean: http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/781/1kwx.png(too large to upload regular) Does that look odd for anyone else? Any way to fix that? if needed, I can post the mods i have currently activated
LargeStyle
Any mods that reduce Skyrims over-prominent distance fogging effect result in showing up the original and poor tree LOD settings / files. There are 2 methods to help improve this... You can adjust tree LOD switch distances in SkyrimPrefs.ini file (found in your documents\My Games\Skyrim folder) - increase the switch distance so better quality trees are used in the (nearish) distance. Also, while editing the .ini you can increase the general distance for tree LOD rendering which has virtually no fps impact and makes bigger and open area scenes look a little better. I'm away from my gaming pc now so I can't state exactly what I've adjusted in the .ini and by how much, but just try setting very large numeric values and it should improve things. The other issue is the rather poor quality standard tree LOD textures. To improve this either search Nexus for tree / tree LOD / LOD mods, but so far the best tree LODs I've found are part of Vurts Flora Overhaul Mod. Just be aware that Vurts mod changes most / all trees and vegetation so you'll either have to install the whole mod or pick out certain textures from the mod.
