Hey guys so i'm running a new character and switched mod lists, i was sure to disable a few texture packs for robot and securitron screens as i will not be seeing them as often and didn't want the strain on my pc; except minutes into my new game i realize that the textures still seem to be active. double checked my manager and load order, but theyre still there. Whats the solution? i assume this is still pulling on my pc?

Disabling a mod does not remove the loose file from the game data folder. Since the game will load loose .dds and/or .nif files before .bsa files, you would have to completely delete the files.

Did you toggle archive invalidation after disabling the mod?

If the loose files are in the Data folder, you would have to delete them. Loose files in the data folder will always override the BSA files. If you mod manager is not Fallout Mod Manager or Nexus Mod Manager, I don't know the procedure to toggle Archive Invalidation. For those two, you will find it under the "Tools" tab.

i do use NMM, and i just found the option to toggle archive invalidation; what will that actually do? will it harm my files in any way?

so, you're saying i should just find the files i downloaded for the mod and delete them manually from the data folder?

If you cannot remove the .dds files with NMM, you would to manually deelete them.

Archive Invalidation tells the game that if there are new files and the new files are to be loaded instead of the same files that are in an archive, including a saved game.

It does not make any changes to any of the installed files.

Archive Invalidation is a necessary tool that must be turned off/turned on whenever any changes are made to any texture file.
