Dfreak25
So I've been getting back into Skyrim lately, and I decided to add more mods (as usual) all was fine and dandy until the other day. I added MoMod-Immersive, Immersive Thunder V6, and another mod that I can't remember now. Regardless, my game was in running condition until I installed those, so I uninstalled them, but my game is still crashing. Sometimes it crashes before the game fully opens, other times it crashes when loading a saved game. I can get into my one save where I'm in Pinewatch, and it's fine, but when I go to leave/exit out into Skyrim, the game crashes every time. I tried to load an old save that was out in the world, and it crashed before it could load. Same thing happens if I try to start a new saved game. I have no idea where to go from here. Please help. P.S. I'll list my load order below and attach a .txt document of it as well. KnightRangersGuild
Sos causes savegame bloat from what I hear, also shouldn't your update.esm go under your skyrim.esm? Also since you have many mods that change the dynamics and lots of other aspects of the game you should unpack all of your meshes bsa, this will help reduce CTD. Some will say not to do this but trust me it helps a lot! I used to get CTD all the time everywhere untill I unpacked my meshes. Hope this solves your issue. TonyTitan
Try using BOSS to sort your load order. To me, that load order you have, I'm amazed you've gotten the game to run at all. LOL! Then once BOSS gets you sorted, follow the instructions for cleaning some of those mods with TES5Edit, and getting things patched with WyreBash. There are also some SKSE.ini tweaks you can make that will kill any orphaned scripts that get left behind after an uninstall of mods. Plus there are a few lvlpredator script killers and critterbug killers out and about as well....all things that might help with your troubles. Dfreak25
I figured out that it was something that went bad in my saved game, so all I have to do is start a new game now, since I went through some more steps to fix the game, and it would get into the game but crash after about 30-50 seconds or so into the game consistantly. I decided to use a clean install backup instead, one with no mods at all. I also unsubscribed to everything on steam workshop to make sure that I could see what would happen if I played the game clean, and it was still crashing. So I made a new game and everything is running fine in that, but the old save still crashes. Idk what, but something had to have gone wrong in that save. Good thing the game only have about 37 hours on it hahaa... Back before I could run it on PC I played on my 360, and I had just over 200 hours logged on my save for that copy of the game. I'm just glad I didn't lose that. The fact that I've already done almost everything there is to do in the game lessens the blow too I guess. Oh well, all's well that ends well. Now to just reinstall mods, and make sure to not f*#@ up installs or load orders or anything like that again. Thanks again for your advice (to both of you). ripple
Don't use the Steam Workshop Subscriptions to manage your mods. SWS will automatically update and delete mods from your game data folder if those mods are updated or removed from the SW. Instead, find the Nexus version of those mods, and use one mod manager (NMM, the Mod Organizer, or Wrye Bash/BAINS) to exclusively handle your mod un/installation. LOL seriously - I guess they dont give a damn they'll break everyone's game by simply removing/updating a mod? I didnt know that (anti-steam ... I keep far away as much as possible) If that's the case... @OP; remove all your steam mods, unsubscribe, and switch to Nexus
