  1. Hey Bben46, Thanks for the reply. I generally run a fairly secure PC. Everything gets dumped when I close my browser, CCleaner runs at start up everyday, as well as RegVac registry cleaner. I also use Spyware Blaster, plus those FF plug ins. (All with Admin priveleges)...and yeah, I know the difference between an Admin account and Admin priveleges for applications. :-) As for UAC? I keep it off anyways... I'll set my browser and plug ins (for a test) to accept 3rd party cookies for the site and have the plug ins set the exceptions. I'll post back with my results. Can you guys check on something as well? From my understanding, from a member who posted in another topic trying to help me.....regarding the News section on the Nexus...He shared a link for the News section on Skyrim. I've been playing Fallout New Vegas as of late, but the news on Skyrim has been updated, as well as quite a few other nexus sites. But the news section for New Vegas is still displaying the latest update as being 2 weeks ago. But when the member was helping me, he explained that all of the News sections get updated all at once??? Dark0ne posts it, for instance on Skyrim, it auto updates all of the Nexus news sections. Is that correct? OR does he have to manually make a post on all of the nexus sites? Like I mentioned, that last news update on New Vegas has been 2 weeks ago.
  2. What Operating System and version are you using? Windows 7 64-bit What browsers and versions have you tried? Firefox 22.0 Are you running any browser plugins that might be blocking cookies or JavaScript like AdBlock or NoScript? Yes, Adblock Plus & Ghostery (both latest versions. Even disabled and browser rebooted, cookies cleared, problem persists) What anti-virus software and version are you using? McAfee Total Protection 12.1 What firewall are you using? McAfee Personal Firewall 13.1 Have you tried to login on a different computer? Yes What URL / Link are you having a problem with? http://newvegas.nexusmods.com What is the exact error message being displayed? None....I just get tossed back to the NewVegas.Nexusmods.com page, but I'm not logged in. Also I am a HughesNet satellite internet user. HughesNet does use something called "Turbo Page". It is not a proxy, but it is some sort of caching system. It works by having HughesNet keep a cached version of web pages stored on their end in order to speed browsing for users. I am not certain of the technical aspects of it...but it's not just a simple cookie. Anyways, we as HughesNet users do have a way of 'resetting' our Turbo Page settings by accessing our modems configuration settings and resetting Turbo Page. But even that is not a total fix. That dumps the page on our end, but the cached version on the HughesNet end....the 'end' in their Germantown, MD. servers, still holds that original cached version. Supposedly those caches do get dumped too. I just do not know how often. So it is possible that HughesNet users might just have to wait awhile until HughesNet caches get flushed on the ISP side. Oh, I'm also using NetFramework version 4
  3. His news feed is NOT displaying across all of the Nexus....As I said, if it wasn't for your link, I would not have seen that bit of news. Yes you have it direct linked to the Skyrim news feed, but it does not display on the Fallout New Vegas news feed, or the Fallout 3 feed. The latest news displayed on either of those is the Rolling down time announcement. And I know it's not a cookie issue for me....I have FF empty all my browser history and cookies everytime I close it. Plus CCleaner dumps everything everyday when I boot up my PC.
  4. That bit of news would certainly be nice to see displayed across ALL of the Nexus sites instead of just Skyrim's Nexus. If I wasn't still experiencing the problems with logging in I'd have never noticed that bit of news. I realize that Skyrim is the 'it' game for the Nexus currently, but when important news needs to be delivered, it needs to go out to all of the sites, and not just the 'it' site of the week. Sorry if I sound like I am bad mouthing anything....it's just with the issues that only a minority seem to be experiencing (which would be me and some others)....we tend to become a tad bit frustrated, and not always voice our concerns in a nice 'PC' manner. If you couldn't log in, and all of your mods that you had been tracking no longer appear (WHEN you can log in), you would be a bit 'frustrated' as well. (You simply meaning all that these issues are NOT effecting....not YOU ZeroKing). Here's hoping that everything is 'fixed' ASAP!
  5. OK, what happened overnight? Log off the New Vegas Nexus last night with all of my mods listed in my tracking center, then log in today and only 4 or 5 are appearing. What happened to the 3 pages of tracked mods I had last night when I logged off???
  6. Oh wow...wish you the best. Am I to understand that you're doing all of this and are not even sure if it is even going to 'fix' the troubles you've been running into lately? I've been there and done that on a MUCH SMALLER scale with a PHPBB forum I own. Doing things with it that you HOPE...solves an issue. None the less, thanks for the work you put into maintaining and running this site. It's never said/heard enough.....but Thanks! :)
  7. Have some patience for the time being. The nexus site has been having some technical issues over the past week or so. For your mod downloads that you say, 'finish'....but then cannot be read, check the file size you actually downloaded with the file size listed on the mods page. That problem you seem to be having sounds like an incomplete download. (Meaning you did not get the full file and will need to download it again.)
  8. It's good you don't have a lot of mods active currently....but I'd try disabling all your mods, then start activating them again one by one...Once you get to Goodsprings again and have the CTD you will know which one is the culprit. It sucks not having an 'easy fix'...but even though that's time consuming, it does help to do things like that. And if you haven't already, check your load order with BOSS.
  9. Just asking, but how did you get: "Shogo_Heavy_Industries.esm Active" in your load order between all of those .esp files? I thought .esm's always had to be at the top of your load order and above all other .esp files.
  10. And some of the folders that you don't have? That just means that you then go ahead and create them. But to add one step that the above post left out....Your very first step is to read the description page thoroughly. Files that might be required to get the mod to work usually get listed there. Plus instructions on how to properly install the mod. NMM and FOMM are NOT ALWAYS used. Some mod authors don't package their mods up to install using them, so in those cases you will have to install the mod manually. Body replacer mods sometimes are like that. Just read everything you can if you're not certain. Descriptions, Read Me files, and of course the comments section of the mod itself.
  11. Correct, simply put NMM into Offline mode and you will be able to continue playing any of your Bethesda game titles that use NMM. The online mode simply allows NMM to keep track of any updates to the NMM software, updates to any mods you currently have installed, and of course, to install any new mods directly with the "Download with Manager" button. Sucks having the 502 Bad Gateway errors today...It could be due to the downtime that was scheduled recently??? Maybe something crazy is still going on with that? And perhaps those Dos attacks are still plaguing the site as well.
  12. Do those mods have .esm's or .esp's that would display in the Data files section? Not every mod has those you know. For instance some mods that might just replace/enhance textures....the author might just have all of his archive installing the meshes and textures...but then leaving no actual plug in that needs to be activated. Just for me, I always download mods manually then import them into NMM to install. That way if there is any issues I'm able to extract the archives on my HDD and look at their directory structures to see if everything installed correctly. I know you said you have not done that yet, but you might want to. Just to give you that piece of mind.
  13. That's interesting. You're having a CTD that is simply minimizing your game....not actually crashing it out. To me that sounds like you have some other process running in your background that is overtaking Skyrim....thus causing it to minimize down to your task bar. Try closing out all running processes before you start playing and see if that doesn't stop this from happening. Do the Ctrl+Alt+Del, start Task Manager, then close any running processes that are listed with the user account name. Don't kill any that are listed as "System" or "Network".......And don't kill the Explorer or Steam process either, as you always need those to play.
  14. Post your BOSS load order logs with any cleaning messages and Bash recommendations.
  15. Chevenga, read the 2nd post in that 2nd link that you have provided there. It's a post from GStaff. In it he explains what is on the physical DVD...And I quote from his post... "I have preordered my physical DVD copy of Skyrim; how am I supposed to install it? Do I need to install the Steam client first? No. What you're actually installing when you completely install Skyrim from the DVD is the Steam client itself (as long as you haven't installed Steam in your system yet), which will then automatically copy the required game files from the DVD to your hard drive. You'll be asked to enter your Steam account name and password to log onto Steam authentication servers, then setup will start. If you don't have a Steam account you'll be asked to register one before installing Skyrim. Note that some of the files may be pulled from the internet through the Steam client to complete the installation, rather than all being on the DVD." Now I have heard that some parts of the world do have actual game files on the DVD...but it is a very minority bunch. Steam unfortunately is required for the vast majority of installs.
  16. Broadband is not available to everyone in the US either Frank....so please stop with the 'poor ol me living in Madrid with no fast internet'...LOL! (And I say that in a light hearted/jokingly manner) But I live less then 100 miles south of Wash. DC and do not have a Fios, Cable, or DSL connection to the internet. All connections deemed as 'broadband'. Dial up in my neighborhood would be rated as 1980's 26K at best. And that's on a good day. Wireless? Again, my area is on that 'fringe' of 3G and 4G....and 99.9% of the time it's the slower 3G, and sometimes that even drops. So what was available for me? Unfortunately the more expensive satellite internet. It's not even considered Broadband, but 'Hi-Speed'. It's good considering nothing else is available...but nothing would be better than all those Broadband connections available to the more fortunate. So since you're able to afford everything you mentioned above....give it a shot. Space...it's available everywhere! Best of luck to you! :)
  17. Skyrim.esm is not a plug in....so it's not needed in the Plugins.txt file. Skyrim.esm is the MAIN game file that every other plugin requires in order to use. That is what a plugin is. As for your dropping FPS it's hard to say without your system specs. You should also, if you do not already, use BOSS to sort your load order.
  18. No, the SKSE.ini file won't be removed....unless of course, you remove it. And leaving it won't effect your game play...it's just sitting there looking for any orphaned scripts that might need killing if the mod they're attached to are no longer present in your game. And it, if I am not mistaken, gets placed in your Skyrim>Data>SKSE folder. And if you never had a SKSE folder, you just created one and dropped the SKSE.ini file into it. Glad to hear your Wife is able to play now!
  19. You brought up something that I think you need to pay much more attention to. In your post above you mention that you simply, and I'm quoting you here, "I just installed the all-in-one package so i thought they need to be there..." Please don't take this as a lecture or anything...I've certainly had to learn the hard way too. But you really need to pay close attention to instructions that Mod creators will include either on the description portion of their mods web page, or in the ReadMe. And I only mention this because if you had read those, you would have seen the proper instructions for installing the lighting settings correctly. Again, PLEASE....do not take that as me trying to be a 'know it all'....I'm certainly not. But just pay closer attention to some of the instructions that mod authors give to you. :)
  20. Create an .ini document and just add these lines: [General] ClearInvalidRegistrations=1 Save the file named as SKSE.ini. Navigate to your Skyrim>Data>SKSE folder and drop that file into it. What that will do is kill/remove any orphaned scripts that got left behind from previous uninstalls of mods.
  21. Skyrim Flora Overhaul is a MASSIVE FPS killer on weaker machines. And you don't actually have a weak machine, but it could be 'stronger'...Believe me, I 'thought' I had a pretty stout machine only to find out from Skyrim how much it has aged in the past 2 yrs since I built it. LOL! And that's not Skyrim's fault really....It's just all the mod authors that are making these really cool HD mods that I'd love to run all at once, and can't. And the Flora Overhaul was one of them.
  22. WOW!! I honestly hope both of you get this resolved....I really enjoy custom voiced followers. :)
  23. Pssstttt...Shadow....pssstttt....That post you quoted is over 6 months old! HAHAHA!!! ;D (And I'm just messin with ya!......I hate that....total stranger on the internet giving you crap. ;D )
  24. Ah...a bit torrent game and can't get it to work to your liking now, Huh? Good luck with that!
