Troubleshooting after new mod addition

Hey everyone,

I am definitely new at using mods in Skyrim, so I need a bit of help with this one:

So I downloaded some recommended mods, installed using NMM, and they were working great with minimal performance hit. Here are those mods, though I don't think that this is the load order they were in:

Skyrim.esm
SPIKE.esm
HearthFires.esm
Update.esm
--------------------------Initial Mods---------
Chesko_Frostfall.esp
SkyUI.esp
RealisticNeedsandDiseases.esp
RND_HearthFires-Patch.esp
RealisticRoomRental.esp
RRR_Hearthfire-Patch.esp
KnapsackEnhanced.esp
Cloaks.esp
Convenient Horses.esp
The Dance of Death.esp
posesivecorpses.esp
HighResTexturePack01.esp
HighResTexturePack02.esp
HighResTexturePack03.esp
WATER.esp
WATER Plants.esp
RND_Water-Patch.esp
Skyrim Flora Overhaul.esp
Better Dynamic Snow.esp
Crimson Tide - Blood.esp
StaticMeshImprovementMod.esp
hothtrooper44_ArmorCompilation.esp

-------------------------------------------------------------------

So, after a few hours of playing I thought I would add some that I had wanted to as I found them on Nexus:

-----------Second Phase Mods------------------------------

Unofficial Hearthfire Patch.esp
Unofficial High Resolution Patch.esp
Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp
Realistic Lighting Overhaul - Dungeons.esp
Realistic Lighting Overhaul - Minor Cities and Town Interiors.esp
Realistic Lighting Overhaul - Major City Exteriors.esp
Realistic Lighting Overhaul - Major City Interiors.esp

-------------------------------------------------------------------

So the game boots up well enough, and it will load the game after a slightly increased loading time. However, even at start screen its possible to tell something is wrong because all the text in the game that isn't just a graphic (ie. the Bethesda signage on bootup) is markedly more grainy in character.

Once gameplay begins it is incredibly choppy, with massive decrease in fps, and a second lag or so between a command and an action, the shadows are not to spec, the mountains in the distant look almost painted, etc. Generally speaking the game seems to be barely running.

Naturally I deactivate the mods that were installed second on NMM, and there is no change. The game runs just as poorly as before with no symptom change regardless of if the second group of mods are being used or not.

I did a TES5 check and (assuming I used it properly) there was nothing wrong detected.

What's recommended at this point to fix this? Uninstall everything? Is there another tool I could be using to help fix this?

Thanks a bunch in advance

By the way, here are my specs (they aren't great):

After adding the Unofficial Hearthfire Patch, you have several patches for Heathfire. Those are probably conflicting. Try using only one patch for Hearthfire.

In addition, the Realistic Lighting Overhaul is a framerate hit. You probably should avoid it with your weaker graphics card.

Since the performance problems continued after disabling the mods, you should load an older save from before you installed the second batch of mods. Something may have gotten stuck in your new saves. That's why it's a good idea to back up your main save before you install any new mods. (Unless you know from a developer's standpoint exactly what the mod changes, ofc.)

Skyrim Flora Overhaul is a MASSIVE FPS killer on weaker machines. And you don't actually have a weak machine, but it could be 'stronger'...Believe me, I 'thought' I had a pretty stout machine only to find out from Skyrim how much it has aged in the past 2 yrs since I built it. LOL! And that's not Skyrim's fault really....It's just all the mod authors that are making these really cool HD mods that I'd love to run all at once, and can't. And the Flora Overhaul was one of them.

Hey guys, thanks for all your advice!

What I've done is delete every one of the second group mods, and re-install a few of the first ones for good measure. I also realized I had previously installed the FXAA injector, which isn't on the NMM, so I manually took that out of my game files.

It seems that its back to what it was! I even have Flora running and the effect is barely noticeable.

Again, thank you so much!
