Syntax1985
hi, basically in 2 weeks time im moving to my new house ( UK ), and this time i really want to get my isp sevice right from the word go, as im getting anoyed of testing and trying to get a service that doesnt suck. as of now ive used AOL broadband and hated it, and for the last 6 months BT homehub full package. the homehub package does me fine but the homehub itself has been a technilogical nightmare. even with the firewall disabled and unp settings enabled networking is a joke, and as a 4 comp house pretty much all playing games or downloading were pretty heavy users. im kinda tempted by the new homehub ( black ), as the service comes with freeview etc included. im prob looking for about £30 a month tops, will go a bit over if a extremly decent service, i NEED unlimited downloads, even 50gb isnt enough, theres 4 of us using it as i said, gaming etc, and my job also requires alot of filesharing. Speedwise id love xxxx m/bs but truth is im on a 8mb/s line at the mo and i only get about 4, i think its due to the area i live in and im not moving very far. a free wireless router that wont have me smashing it against a wall and screaming abuse at passing school children would be a huge bonus. just wondering if anyone had any recommendations from 1st hand experience? TheTerminator2004
You could try looking into Bethere (https://www.bethere.co.uk/), they're meant to be excellent. Plusnet are meant to be good too (http://www.plus.net/). I've never used either of those, but I've spent a lot of time looking up good ISPs, as my previous ISP (Pipex, but it was a problem with all ISPs owned by Tiscali, there were quite a few I think) blocked Eve Online for a long time, and my current one (TalkTalk) supposedly is 8mb/s, but in actual fact is more like 0.5mb/s. Virgin's fiberoptic is meant to be pretty good too, and you get TV with that package.
