Cyanide1
Hello this is my first time using the forum. This isn't just a problem with my Fallout 3, but also Fallout New Vegas. There is a huge problem in both of these games with both of their general LOD (actors, buildings, trees, objects, etc). I am able to run these games on ultra setting, and to be honest this didn't used to be a problem. All my LOD settings are maxed out, I've even tried overclocking the settings in the .ini files and using the FO3 Configurator program to edit the LOD settings and have basically tried every trick in the book. Nothing has worked for me to fix this and I'm discouraged to play the games due to this dilemma... help? -Thank youCyanide1 Computer Specs:(Attachment Picture) *Edit: I'm sorry, the problem is everything in the world doesn't load from far away as instead pops into view when I'm about 30ft from it*Edit: http://postimg.org/gallery/2gxgod6m/ These pics are from my copy of Fallout: New Vegas, it's the same problem... Purr4me
Fallout 3 LOD/View Distance Probelm that kinda fits. popping into view and a lot of things listed. Ugrid bug. Go to ini files, all of them, set it at 5 in all of them. then if there are not too many mods installed, esp's only, start with the very fisrt esp file just undr the last listed esm file in the load order, and load 1 at a time into the geck. all you need to do is get them to load. once they do, you can now change the players perspective views for each mod to match an overclocked / off the scale as you have seen.at the top, you click the file drop down menu item and select preferences. the only item here you touch is LOD sliders. Note: once you have them in sight, you slide all of these to the right. Notice after you set "apply and close and reopen this, the left side of the slider menu is forced back down. you grab these again and set them to the right,, set apply, close and set "save" the mod/esp as is. do this twice for every esp in order. when you are all done, your load order will be set as it was before you started out. NOTE: you must do all of them, not just a few. this is an internal LOD/ugrid settings encoded into each and ever mod you have and can not be altered once done. BY any outside programs period. It's a mean trick, it's 100% perfect too. and save the esps files you alter in this way into a package as an override preset for later, your special package. just copy them all into a folder and zip it up. is any mod manager to install your over rides. your done. Kitty I'm not trying to increase my lod persay, but trying to fix it. Many elements like buildings, trees, landscape, objects, water, everything is messed up things fade out/into view from like 10 feet. Re-installing doesn't help either Edited July 8, 2013 by Cyanide1

Purr4me
Have you tried turning your graphics down? That will just add on to the problem, haha. The goal is trying to fix this darn thang ;pcan you post a load order? I would like to see what your running please. The shot above you posted of the system shows the desktop is maxed out, that may in fact be a problem. The game, when it launches, sets the Dual screen overlay at 800x600 and once it gets to the lower NTDos area of Ram, it loads up the games settings you have set it at. But always, sets the 800x600 ugly graphics when it loads the game windows. Prior to going in, at the menu, Alt tab out and see where the screen is, OR Crtl, alt del and see if the screen is set up correctly. I bet the icons are gigantic. windows is a strange OS. every system does difernt things so there is no way for anyone to know exactly whats going on. distance is controlled by u grids ,but much greater than just 10 feet.kitty
Cyanide1
Well, I can tell you this isn't a load order and mod problem because if I had a clean, vanilla game the problem still happens, and the resolution works perfect.

Purr4me
what I can do is upload a basic set of files, set to read only for you to try. by trying this, you may discover what is causing the issue. most likely, you have some sort of bug, Highjacking the display drivers, or the desk top window manager.exe. one way or another , we can figure out what is going on.....if your will.files are My game folder , in my document, set to default, files in the user/temp/app/fallout3 folder " Viewsettings."all set to default and read only.tools used like fake full screen are not native to the OS, fomm is not native to the OS, the games own launcher can be highjacked so encase any one has an issue with these instructions, beware, I know better than you do. The in thing now seen all over the net are scripts getting compiled remotely into unsuspecting user base games. caught them cold. kids will have their fun. problem is, we are ready for them. get peerblock 1.1 and update that and see all the fun taking place here. No joke. your desktop is the environment these things flourish in and the game loads them from with in.Decide.kitty
