Yeah, you guys have all heard about flying mammoths before, but get a load of this.

Loaded a savegame from just after i killed the dragon at kynesgrove, when suddenly, 5 or so dead mammoths just fell from the f***ing sky right in front of me and piled on top of eachother.

WTF BETHESDA?!?!?!

Yep, lol. I once had a Stormcloak patrol run into the sky. I guess they were going to Sovngarde, lol.

Once it started raining bandits and spiders, though I suppose that's less dangerous than mammoths. :P

Is this anything i should worry about in regards to mods doing funny things with my game though? Cause everyone has seen mammoths spawning in the sky at a distance, even in vanilla. Never in my years would i have thought this could happen though!

I saw a mammoth in the sky in the first week of play (vanilla) so I went there to investigate and a giant hit me and throw me in the sky then I supposed that they were brawling before my arrive.

I know how I caused at least one mammoth to fall from the sky.

I was trying to draw a mammoth to that big fort in the middle of Whiterun Hold (Fort Greymoor I think). The problem is that if a mammoth steps too far outside its "home cell" it vanishes. Oh well, so much for that strategy.

However, when I ran back to where the mammoth should have been, I noticed kind of on the other side of the cell the mammoth spawning in midair, crashing to earth (nirn?), and dying. I didn't get the GSG but I got a tusk at least. Anyway I think the mammoth rain bug has to do with mammoths walking outside their home cell or outside of one of the cells adjacent. I don't actually know how the cell system works when you're actually playing; I can tell from the hard drive when new cells are loading but I never have to wait, so I think there's a ring of cells around the player that get loaded as the player zones from cell to cell. But I'm just guessing.

Anyway, if a mammoth chases you farther than the designers ever expected mammoths to chase players you can get a falling mammoth.
