Hi guys

Looking for some help! I have installed some mods, along with an ENB and everything is working swell, except that I no longer have a Dragon Shout/Power button. It isn't even in the controls section of the menu at all! I just defeated the first dragon, and the popup came up and said "Use [shout] to Shout" ... I have no "shout" key and I dont have any other key for it in the controls menu.

I have no idea what I have installed that could be causing this issue. Attached is my mod list ....

I just had this exact same problem. I think the culprit is the More HotKeys Please mod, which I see you have installed. I like to shout using one of my mouse's thumb buttons, so I had installed the "Control Map -Controllers and Shout Mouse-" file over the top of default MHP installation, both in NMM. When I deactivated that control map file in NMM, my shout key showed back up in my controls menu. So far, MHP seems to be working fine, even though I'm shouting with a mouse key without using that second file.

In the MCM menu, look for the More Hotkeys Please menu. Under the Gamekeys submenu, on the right column, you will see the option to map your Shout to a button.

I had the same problem, then I saw that and it works fine for me now.

Not sure if you still need a solution after all these years, or if the other users' solutions worked for you.

Anyway, I had the same problem as you. Shout button completely disappeared, wasn't even in main game controls section at all, which made it unable to be remapped or any of a bunch of other "solutions" that people told me about when I searched the web.

What I did was a drastic measure but it worked:

7 Steps to Success:

1) Vortex creates a folder for everything about Skyrim Special Edition. Make a backup copy of it. It should have been named "Skyrim Special Edition"

it has all of your downloaded mod archives and etc.

2) Steam ALSO has a folder for all of your Skyrim Special Edition game. Make a backup copy of it. It should have ALSO been named "Skyrim Special Edition"

(This folder can be found at steam>steamapps>common)

3) Startup Steam. Uninstall Skyrim Special Edition.

4) DELETE THE ORIGINAL FOLDERS!!

Yes, I mean both of the folders along with everything in them. Don't worry, you made backups.

5) Start up Steam. Re-install Skyrim Special Edition.

If you had done this WITHOUT deleting the original folders in step 4, you will still have the same bug, because steam leaves those files behind after uninstallation and then doesn't replace them when you reinstall.

If you did step 4 as told, steam will see that those Skyrim files are all gone and will give you a fresh, new batch of files from their own database somewhere out there. These are all the ORIGINAL, VANILLA files that were NEVER MODDED.

You can try and open the game again (without any of the mods at first), and you'll see that the "shout/power" command appears again in the controls section.

6) Startup Vortex. A warning will pop up saying that the file for Skyrim Special Edition is missing. It will ask if you want to "re-initialize". SAY YES, and it will re-create a new folder for you.

7) After that, it's just a matter of CAREFULLY merging your backup copies with the vanilla files.

You may want to keep a backup of the vanilla files somewhere, just in case something like this bug happens again.

Be careful in merging your backups with the original vanilla files. One of those mods or one of those files caused the bug and is still in the backups somewhere.

Maybe all of this was helpful, maybe it wasn't. But at the very least, you'll now have a fresh start and you'll be better able to figure out what the heck caused the "shout/power control disappears" bug.

NOTE: I haven't tried this with OIdrim or Legendary Edition, or with other Mod Organizers like MO2. There's no reason why it wouldn't work though.
