roldoi1911
Medic: I REQUIRE ASSISTANCE! Yeah Bethesda games have always been buggy, but now I'm just at the end of my rope, spent the last 3-4 days searching the web for help. a week before I was playing skyrim modded, but out of nowhwere it started to crash when ever I went into an exterior cell. eventually I started to get frustrated and uninstalled my mods and re installed the game through steam. Still my game crashes when I tried to start a new save ( Goodbye Kori the samurai my lvl 81 imperial :( ) so yeah now I tried to verify cache, defrag, sound solution, and none worked) Though I have noticed my display adaptor (or video card, graphics card, or what ever they call them) "AMD RADEON HD 7560D" is listed twice when I play through launcher. I tested to play fallout new vegas and it's launcher listed the graphic card twice as well, but ran fine all the same. (since skyrim is far more graphically taxing then fallout). I have reason to believe this is the problem because this has happened to me before (I resolved it ,but now I forgot the fix and cant find the site I found it on)eMods aren't the problem, even when all of the are uninstalled I cant make a new save cause it crashes on the load screen (on a side note using TESEdit I checked my mods and none conflicted)PLEASE HELP! P.S. sorry I sound noobish, but i'm a Gamer not a software engineer
Georgiegril
Trying to load a save that depends on mods on a game that you have removed said mods pretty much guarantees a crash. All of the things you have currently done to the game (adding removing all the mods, reinstalling the game) have likely ensured that you will not be able to get your current savegame to work. I suggest you start over, new game, no mods (see STEP guide on how to properly revert to vanilla), then very carefully add mods one or two at a time after exiting helgen. Read everything available on every mod you are considering, including the discussion page, because the are many mods that really can't properly be removed once added without returning to a save prior to that mod's installation. Run BOSS after each change and play a bit for stability before adding the next one or two. Same thing with any other changes you are making (ini files, graphics profile, etc.) If a problem comes up, stop playing and immediately focus on the problem--it should be easier to isolate if you have only made on or two changes. If you ever feel like you may need to remove a mod, re-read everything about that mod again--improper removal increases the chance of problems, but mods that affect scripts may not be completely removable, therefore it is impossible to test whether they are the problem by removing them, since doing so does not actually remove the mod's influence on your game and may actually increase your problems. This is not the mod author's "fault;" it is a characteristic of the game engine. Crashing in exterior cells may be related to your memory-- even of your computer set-up is a monster, you are still limited by the game engine. If your last game used more than the default (5) ugridstoload, extended the LOD size, introduced a lot of HD textures, or lighting/fx, that might be something to consider reducing in your new game. Many mods (like water, skyrim flora overhaul, smim, etc) offer various configurations for higher/lower resources. You might also try a texture optimizer like SMCO--it can greatly reduce your memory load with very minimal observable quality loss. Hope some of this helps!
