Hi,

I've just bought the witcher 2 and was wondering if I could get some advice on what mods to install before I first play. I have never played before. I've got the combat rebalance mod. Is anything else worth getting for a noob? I will probably only do one playthrough and would like the best experience without changing the game too much. Graphics mods are ok as I have a powerful pc.

Thanks for any advice.

I'm interested to know of some good starter mods as well, and if there is anywhere with stick threads or tutorial threads that will help to get started with modding. I just bought the game like you, but I'm not sure which way to get started by just playing first or starting with a couple smaller mods. I've been in the skyrim modding community so I'm familiar with modding and the concepts just not where to get started with the witcher 2. I would like to play Wild hunt when it comes out but I want to learn the story from 2 first so I'm starting to play 2, I just know from Skyrim how much more fun it is to play a game with mods, so I am really interested in downloading mods.

Also what is the redkit?

REDkit is the editor for Witcher 2 and D'jinni is for Witcher 1.

I've never used the REDkit because I pretty much prefer Witcher 1. W2 had better graphics but W1 storyline was much better.

With D'jinni you can do anything from create new followers (thanks to Corylea) to creating whole new adventures and quests.

Is Redkit how you install mods to to witcher 2? Or show I be downloading Nexus Mod Manager or BOSS or another time of mod management tool?

REDkit is like Creation Kit for Skyrim, it's a game editing tool.

There isn't any mod manager tools for Witcher. The mods should include manual installation instructions but are usually as simple as "extract and drop into your Witcher/CookedPC file".
