KainThePheonix
Hello all.I want to try and mod myself a really good game for Skyrim SE. I usually merge files but since the advent of ESL and ESP-FE based Plugins I don't have as much and I have been going back and forth with the idea of keeping it smaller and eliminating some or if my calculation is correct I will add more mods but I haven't really played a full or even partial game of Skyrim SE yet. I could use some help please, if anyone wouldn't mind.No flaming, just good ideas on what if any patching I am missing and bearing in mind this isn't complete. I haven't added DynDOLOD or DAR/FNIS/Nemesis yet (I still haven't figured out the animation part yet. I need help with that specifically) Now I do have 392 total plugins with merges, ESL and ESP-FE plugins included. The amount of the ESLs and ESP-FE files are 222, leaving me somewhere around 165 to 169 plugins available (if my math or understanding is correct that is.) My possible mis-understanding is that the game can run up to 4096 ESL's and ESP-FE's aren't counted toward the 254 Plugin limit (leaving the last one unused as usual)am I close or correct in any of that? I could really muse clarification for this please. Thank you ahead of time to anyone willing or able to provide that too.Now onto the next issue, if I do indeed have around 165 to 169 Plugin spots left what should I patch into my load order that might need it or any corrections anyone could kindly alert me to would be greatly appreciated. My idea is to fill it out if I can and if I cannot just leave it nearly as is. I still need to do the DAR/FNIS/Nemesis animation part, DynDOLOD, Dual Sheath Something - either Ecotone's version or the new one using SKSE Simple Dual Sheath Nexus ID 50049. I will also add in maybe a couple more but my load order really expanded with Legacy of the Dragonborn - I really wish a HUGE super patch could be made for that game  (j/k) Again I might also remove mods too, most of the merges have been checked within reason and are working correctly. I have saved over 250 times with no bloating of my save with the 1394 ticked files in Mod Organizer 2. Not all of them have ESP's obviously. My game corrupted once but that was found to be a specific mod, when it was removed things stabilized again. ZERO issues since then. I add the mods and merges in blocks on a clean save point.I know DAR/FNIS/Nemesis aren't used together, I simply grouped them together for the sake of discussion if I cannot figure out DAR and will finalize with FNIS and leave DAR for later. I still might choose either FNIS or Nemesis and I'm having trouble with DAR so the animation department is still in production. :wink:Here is the slideshow of images of all the plugins from 1 to 392. Every image is clean, I have no mods or images with nudity, the only thing listed is the MO2 Skyrim Load Order with nothing in any of the esps that would look off.
https://www.flickr.com/gp/193683223@N04/Y73934
I hope I posted the link correctly, I don't start a lot of threads. Thedudeistt
I'm fairly certain that missives is a better version of the notice board, and more recently updated...Also, your high quality sound overhaul, isn't it redundant to have that and the skyrim sound overhaul? Won't the overall overhaul just overwrite the ps4 high quality one? In regards to guard dialogue overhaul... pretty sure there was an updated version or something? Also a compatibility patch for AI overhaul. A core mod file that I recommend for a slight fps boost. It will of course be overwritten by all texture mods, but where it isn't, it's just better. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/38775 Kart's SSE Cleaned skyrim textures.I also recommend both the mods listed under requirements, which are suggestions rather than actual requirements. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/51229 Free FPShttps://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/36208 Paramount FPS Galore This is a grass mod that increases grass density and foliage and still somehow increases fps: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/20082 Grass FPS booster It serves as a great baseline for other grass mods, along with: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/9005 Landscape fixes for grass mods(or without them.) https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/26138 Landscape and Water Fixes(Worldwide clipping fix...ah, wait, you already have this one.) https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/50755 Another clipping and efficiency mod. Let everything overwrite the above mods, they're there mostly to have a cleaner 'surface.' It took me ages to get it to work properly, but it's soooo worth it:https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/28833All geared up Derivative. If it doesn't work after following the instructions and reading the fixes, it's probably a conflict with body slots. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/14910 Andromeda Standing stonesOverhauls all the standing stones. Since 24 june. You can disable the function in either one, but i suggest disabling the one in engine fixes. They both fix it in their own way, but I prefer the one in animation limit crash fix.)https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/33261 Bug fixes SSE https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/43532 Scrambled bugs (more bugfixes.)Heres the ordinator patch that takes advantage of scrambled bugs:https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/51965 The guy who made this one is amazing:https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/54061 Vanilla script micro-optimizations Just a way to speed up game boot:https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/18860 Ever suffer from the black face bug, or any sort of issues with faces? https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/42441 This mod is your god. So underrated, it needs many more endorsements. The author deserves them. Patch for summermyst/WACCFhttps://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/34547 You know you want this:https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/31612https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/10204https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/43262 I highly recommend immersive jewelry, and jewelry limiter, which are both compatible with all geared up, somehow. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/5336 IJhttps://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/22098 JL Honestly I could go on all day, I have 400 mods. If you want more, just ask. I took some mods from your load order as well, especially the modder's patch, which I somehow overlooked. Thanks for that one, really. Also also, here's another big one:https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/659and its optimizer for fps:https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/42231 I highly suggest you look through the creature mods made by 'mihailmods' as well as just going into the 'magic and enchantments' category, and browsing through both the highest endorsements and latest updated pages. They'll blow your mind, and most of them are compatible with each other too! Might I also suggest Obscure's college of winterhold, immersive college npcs, and ultimate college of winterhold that merges the two biggest college mods into one amazing behemoth? Remember to look through the requirements for all of these mods, compatibility patches, and whatnot. I use them all and they work together fine, seemingly. Only issue is that the ultimate college has a literal missing wall on the 4th floor in the private library, but it's a small spot and you don't go there often anyway. Thedudeistt
Oh, also, this one is quite useful for someone who actually likes using staves: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/20953Just wish there was a mod that lets the staff of magnus scale too. As for animations? Just use mystic knight, evg animation variance, and underdog. If you wanna add fighting animations to your character, all you gotta do is add nemesis(or fnis) to your manager, and run it each time you add animations or deploy files. If you have two animation mods, one doing only idles, another doing 2handed weapons, and another for casting animations, then they won't conflict. The biggest issue is generally the transition between them. The mystic knight's 2h block is awkward and clearly unfinished, but it's still the greatest. Download animation file, enable, deploy, open nemesis, update, launch, close, play. Edited August 21, 2021 by Thedudeistt
KainThePheonix
Thank you Dudeisit!I'm going to have fun looking this list over too. I have the version of GDO that is the best I have the patches but I quit using AI Overhaul. I still have around the same number of plugins though and I hope I have that right. I have 402 plugins. Regular ESP plugins around 175 and the rest are ESP-FE's (which I've read do NOT count towards final plugin total and then I have about 8 ESL files only. Thedudeistt
In regards to esp-esl files, I was fervently looking over some guides on how to convert them, and it's surprisingly easy. All you have to do is open ssedit and run the scrip called 'check for mods that can be converted to esl' or something like that. The only thing to watch out for is that esl files are usually overwritten by others, and thus you cannot do this with patches, despite nearly all of them being considered valid for conversion. It's safe to eslify most mods that simply add one or two items. If ssedit, after running the script, states that you can convert a file to esl by flagging it, you can do so. Generally, the ones that give you the shortest message are the ones you can do this with, but anything that gives you a warning, is a patch, has cells in the dropdown menu, or requires compression, is all not worth your time and will bug out. From what I understand, esl files basically all take up a single load order slot. Therefore, check your LOOT regularly as if you ever find a warning related to plugins sharing a slot, it means that you hit the plugin limit and have exceeded it by a single plugin. Although confusingly enough, disabling a single plugin didn't seem to fix the error for me until I disabled a few. Regardless, if this issue happens then literally all your mods will bug out and break your game. I have not had a save break from this just yet, but It leads to some... amusing visuals that involve missing heads and floating eyeballs. Anyway, I've done a lot of research and learned a lot of things in the past few months in relation to skyrim modding. I'll be happy to share my findings with you if you need assistance. Ah, recently, in terms of animations, there's a new set of animation mods out for magic-users like me. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/45799 Smooth casting animations without staff or weapon. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/54883 Smooth casting animation with staff in one or both hands. Although apparently there's some issue with the staff-casting animation in the left hand. There's a third one called smooth magic knight by the same author on a different website for casting animations with a different weapon in one hand, as well. They're amazing and have no requirements other than dynamic animation replacer—also turn animation disabler, OR a 360 camera-type mod like 360 camera or true directional movement. I do like Mystic Knight, but I do also play a male and thus the right hand animation idle looks awkward with weapons. However I have to say that the Mystic Knight's left-handed staff animation idle is by far my favorite. They're all quite easy to switch out as none of the aforementioned mods actually require nemesis or fnis. I do not recommend activating mystic knight together with them as you run the risk of your character getting epilepsy every time they move, or simply reverting to vanilla animations, or having your chosen animation handler crash the game, assuming you're running fnis or nemesis. You can, however, go into the files themselves and switch out the individual animations as you like. They are all pretty straightforward and if you know what you're seeing, you can freely switch out individual, aptly named files between the aforementioned mods. Also, while my pc is mid-tier, it can't really handle some of my mods, so I've been looking more deeply into performance-type mods that can lessen the strain and allow me to enjoy my heavy load order. This mod presents a decent-length list of mods of that type:https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/51229It has just about everything you need if you ever find mods that together, or by themselves, push your skyrim past your pc's limits. Unfortunately, only a monster pc can save you from the utter fps destruction that artesian cloaks gives you. Hahaha!
