EpicRandomGuy
Here's a link to my first PC build. I want it as good as possible for gaming at the $1200 to $1400 price range, not including Windows and the monitor. Please don't suggest any much more expensive parts, it already costs too much. But yeah, I would like some opinions and advice on this build. I WAS considering a Maximus VI Hero motherboard, but many people said it was overkill? Is it? Should I still consider it? Also, power supply advice and suggestions would be nice, I hear this one isn't very good. Thanks in advance! http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1gr60
FMod
IDK about that PSU, probably not too good, definitely don't need that much power. Get Corsair TX650V2. Try to get this specific one, it's a Seasonic inside. Gigabyte mobos are buggy, better get an Asrock Pro3 or a low end Asus (former is better). Haswells don't seriously overclock anyway. Might be cheaper as well. See if you can get a slightly cheaper SSD. Crucial, Toshiba are possible brands that are as good.Try and use any brand of HDD other than Seagate. Hitachi, Toshiba both tend to cost ~as much as Seagate (which they are vastly superior to), WD and Samsung cost a bit more. You want 2x4GB memory, not 1x8GB. Overall, look for deals manually, you don't have nearly enough in your build. Go to newegg/amazon/etc, search for parts.

And a note on the power supply, more power is ALWAYS better... it will save you money on future upgrades (or emergency upgrades) Although I have never heard of Raidmax, if you spend a little extra on the PSU you could get the Corsair GS-800v2 800w cause corsair is such a sick brand xD
FMod
but having the DualBIOS helped so very much.Yes. It does. The thing is, other motherboards don't need this kind of help. Gigabyte's Dual BIOS gets used a lot where nothing happens on an Asus or Asrock, and when it fails, you're SOL. Although I have never heard of Raidmax, if you spend a little extra on the PSU you could get the Corsair GS-800v2 800w cause corsair is such a sick brand xDWhat matters is who makes the PSU, not who sells it.TX650v2 is way better than GS-800. More power is only better if you plan to upgrade "sideways" - multiple cards instead of one, etc. Straight vertical upgrades with technology evolution won't need more power. Now, a reliable PSU with high quality output, that keeps its value.

In my case I still have the GTX 560... and I plan to upgrade in less than a year, and the GS 800 was an emergency upgrade... due to s*** prices in Australia I got the GS 800 on special and was actually considering the TX650 but I was thinking of future proofing for more powerful upgrades, mainly thinking of the GPU in that case. Roguespear
I would say build that sucker, everything looks good but the keyboard, I would use a Razor BlackWidow Ultimate keyboard, it is more bucks but I have 2 of them and for gaming, there as good as it gets.
