I am in the middle of testing everything but something has removed the prisoner outfit from the PC when I try to start a new game. I would like to know where/what I should look for in a plugin that would determine a change like this. One thing I noticed is that I can hear the sound of the clothes being unequipped just before the race menu shows up. Could this be something that a script is responsible for? Kenmurikumo Posted July 15, 2013 Share Posted July 15, 2013 personally, i don't know if there is a way to see what mods do what to the game scripts and inner working without examining them one by one. My entire modding career for Oblivion and FO3 has taught me that you need to remove all mods and basically test them one by one to find out what did it. The shorter method is to figure out when this "bug" started and what mods you installed just prior... That may narrow it down some... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
bben46 Posted July 15, 2013 Share Posted July 15, 2013 Many mods seem to cause problems with the intro/tutorial part of the game. My suggestion is to remove all mods except those absolutely necessary - Until you exit the cave the real game hasn't started yet anyway - going through the Helgen sequence is almost entirely scripted and you have no real control over what is going on. Those Helgen/tutorial scripts can conflict with mod scripts in strange ways. As soon as you exit the cave, before adding any mods - make a permanent save - never overwrite this one. Then add your mods - when you have a working game with mods - make another permanent save. A dozen or so permanent saves as you add groups of mods would be even better. Nudedragon Posted July 15, 2013 Share Posted July 15, 2013 That's actually how the developers intended it, the prisoner clothes were just one of many vanilla glitches, you probably installed a fix. In all honesty, if you got any body mods or body mod supplements, that's probably your issue. I doubt it's a bug or a glitch, sounds like something a mod would do deliberately. KingsGambit Posted July 15, 2013 Share Posted July 15, 2013 There's no real way to know exactly what's going on on your game with your particular set of mods, but I'd hazard that a clothing mod or body mod has changed a value of the two prisoner items specifically. Though the "unequipping" before choosing race is a little telling, and suggests that possibly there's a script firing off at that point in the "quest", a quest which tracks stages and sets different variables. The game starts you off wearing those two items. If they're invisible, they'd still be in your inventory and in the CK, the clothing properties would have torso, arms, legs or race unchecked. If it's being unequipped and is no longer in your inventory, one of the mods has changed the stage of initial quest to forcefully unequip and remove those items. I thought RaceMenu might have been the cause as the latest version allows you to use body tattoos but the mod page doesn't say anything about the removal of clothes.. though when adding tattoos, I suppose that would be a useful feature.
