Adventurer1111
Fellow Modders, I am close to finishing a falconry mod and wanted to ask for opinions. The birds in the mod are based on dragon logic and will follow based on an item because I can not get it to work any other way. Should the item that triggers the NPC to follow be a Falconer's glove *OR* a Falconer's amulet that the Player has to wear. The only reason I am thinking amulet is because of armor sets. https://www.nexusmod...n/images/114826 Thoughts? I reserve the right of final choice but I am indifferent either way currently. Thanks. Lisnpuppy
I would do a ring or necklace specifically for the reason you said. Can you make it work with just a carried in inventory object or does it actually only work if equipped? Because there has to be a mod out there that does something if the item is only in your inventory. But lots of people use unlimited amulet or rings or the fact it is just easier to use without having to unequip a piece of armor and then screw up armor set bonus or whatever. thumbincubation
Yeah, short of having to do one of each item in the game, you might be best with the amulet. As alternatives to consider, is there any feasibility in making a disenchantable item that will allow a "follow me" enchantment to be placed on whatever item the wearer wishes? Or, if you want to save enchantment slots, if you use the silver sword script, you should be able to tweak it to apply a perk on equip. Another possibility would be some sort of tether, that uses a normally-unused body slot.
