Georgiegril
It looks to me like you are using a mod for the CW quests? You may have better luck reading through the discussion pages for that mod, looking at the known bugs/fixes and/or asking the mod author. You may need to get a specific mod-related quest stage code to advance by console.
cconfidential
so basically i gotta start the game over because of this.... any mod to easily click-finish quests and get items? like some sort of cheat thingy to help people like me who need to start a new game but would hate to actually play everything again? edit: with some playing around in the console, when i do "completequest cwmission04" it says "mission completed: rescue from [...]" instead of saying the name of the quest.also, if trying to setstage 10(beggining) and trying to "movetoqt" it says there is no target.and in general setting any stage doesn't change anything. and i've found out this is sometimes not related to the civil war overhaul mod. a lot of people have it regardless. edit: also forgot to mention, i have to option to ask him "where am i headed" "what am i supposed to do" and he tells me that there's a rumor raerek is actually a believer of talos and it can be used to blackmail raerek.raerek is in the blue palace because during season unending the stormcloaks got markarth. i think this may be the origin of problems because i can't complete this quest. i found a save file that i may be willing to use (it's after season unending and before joining any side) but i don't want to use it and get to the same problematic place again, how do i avoid this bug next time? Georgiegril
Was "you have to start over again" advice from the mod author of whatever mod you are using to affect the Civil War?My advice was to follow the advice for the specific mod you are using, from that mod page. If you do not like the way the mod is working, and the mod authors instructions were to start over, then you will probably need to disable/remove it and then return to a save from before you added it. If you have made a bunch of other mod changes as well since that save, you may not be able to return to the earlier save. If none of the earlier saves will load for you (or if you started the game with the mod in question) then you will need to start a new game entirely. You can use the STEP guide to revert to vanilla without having to reinstall all the game files.Once you get the new game going, you can use console commands (there are lists of these in the Elder Scrolls Wiki and UESP) to advance certain quests and there is a mod out there if I recall that does automatically finish the CW entirely (try searching Civil War in the mod search) . Also there are a number of savegames you can look through that provide various starting points, you just need to look through and find the one you want. Just a caveat, using console codes can have unexpected consequences, more so if making mass changes. To avoid the problem you are now having, I recommend reading every word available for any mod you are considering, including the discussion page, where you will be able to see the kinds of problems users are having, how they are remedied and if you are willing to take on the possible problems as well as the potential benefits.
