I've been wondering if there's a way to 'save' one's settings for the MCM, when making new characters. It finally dawned on me that a mods MCM presets must be defined somewhere. Excepting hotkeys, every mod utilizing the MCM has defaults. Difficulty for Immersive Creatures, for example, starts at Adept. Convenient Horses defaults to basic auto-loot.

I'm wondering how I could manually alter these presets? Doing so would expedite my character creation process noticeably. I'm just not sure where I would go looking for the default values, to change them.

I feel your pain. Same s*** here.

I always make screenshots of all the menu's, then when creating character I open the game in Windowed mode and spend a good 30 minutes copying my settings over, manually.

The settings are saved into your savegame. If you start a new game you will have to set all the menus from scratch. There's no way to write the settings into a file.

The default presets are defined in an MCM script. If you're willing to read through all of the variables, then go ahead and change them, then recompile with the Creation Kit.

Sometimes the mod author defines the variables in GlobalVariables, and the MCM will read those instead. Then you can change the global variables in a .esp file instead of within the script.

Your best bet is to request that the mod author support FISS or something like it, unfortunately. There is also the mod Skyrim Unbound which allows you to make a save point before choosing your race. That way you can set all of your MCM options and then load that save instead of starting a new game.
