Can't download New Vegas mods through NMM OR manually

So I bought Fallout New Vegas just the other day because I am very interested in trying out the various mods on the Nexus. I made a Nexus account and downloaded the manager right away. However, once I found a mod I wanted to download, I found that I was not able to download the mod through NMM or even manually. When I attempt to download through NMM, a pop up window from the Nexus appears asking if I want to allow the page to open up the NMM application. After I allow it, nothing at all happens, whether I have NMM open or not. After becoming frustrated with downloading through NMM, I attempted to download some mods manually. The mods begin downloading in my browser, but as soon as they finish, every one of them say that they can not be read. I have searched for solutions everywhere, but nothing seems to work. Any ideas on what I can try in order to fix the problem?

Have some patience for the time being. The nexus site has been having some technical issues over the past week or so. For your mod downloads that you say, 'finish'....but then cannot be read, check the file size you actually downloaded with the file size listed on the mods page. That problem you seem to be having sounds like an incomplete download. (Meaning you did not get the full file and will need to download it again.)
