Keeping out rain/snow

Could someone please tell me if there is a way to keep rain and snow out of a room that is built in an exterior cell, but completely covered except for the doorway?

I've tried collision markers with no luck, collision cubes... nothing seems to work. There are plenty of primitives to choose from, but apart from transparent, unidentified and navcut, I have no idea what the others do.

Your help would be much appreciated

Traditional Skyrim rain/snow are just overlays on the screen, they are not objects being dropped on the world.

I went running around Skyrim like a moron to find out exactly what you just said. Haha :geek:

Before I had this issue I never realized that it rains through solid structures.

one way that I could think of would be to script an event to trigger when your player got near the area for the weather to stop raining or snowing using a weather override until they leave the area.

might not be exactly what your looking for but could work.

I suck at scripting. I wouldn't even know where to begin. Don't suppose there is a ready-made script that I can use?

Thanks for the replies guys.

Its been done, i just can't remember the name of the mod which experimented with it. I wouldn't mind if it was just in very spesific, hand picked places, the main problems with me is clipping snow as it comes in from angles which it shouldnt and ruins immersion.

Ah good stuff! That is exactly what I am looking for. I'm gonna search for this mod even if it kills me. Thanks a lot!

Edit: I found it without dying.

Seems he abandoned it though. I'm gonna rip it apart and see what I can see. Thanks man \m/

Yeah, plus only a few places were covered by the mod.. and it effected preformance, if i was to use such a mod i would want to pick the places myself so that i would be happy with the appereance of it.

This the mod you guys were looking for by wreznor?

Heartwood Cottage

You need to put a roombound in the house, then you need to link a portal to outside somehow. The roombound will prevent the rain from coming in. Not sure if it's possible to link it to outside but you would need to play with portals and the settings of the roombound.

At least, I believe that's one way to do it.

Yeah I checked it out and performance will be an issue on lower spec machines unfortunately. I've decided to make the room an interior instead. Not exactly what I was going for, but it'll do in a pinch.

I have this mod. But I can't figure out how he did it. My CK knowledge is limited. But I'll study it, maybe I can figure it out. Thanks!
