Hearthfire Problem

Alright, I am officially bald due to the amount of hair I have been pulling out over this problem of mine.

 

I have skyrim pc, with both dawnguard and hearthfire dlc. Dawnguard works beautifully. Hearthfire on the other hand has issues.

 

See, I like lakeview...simple and easy to get...that an the view is the nicest. I have not played my skyrim game in the past year, I do not remember having this problem..or.. problems, as the case may be.

 

I have started two new games, same thing comes arounds.

 

AND: let me mention that each time, I spent half an hour to an hour waiting on teh courier before and after going to Falkreath and going through the need steps get lakeview. As far as I know, I did not have to wait on the mail man, I could just go directly to the jarl themselves and get going. Each and every time, the courier never showed up at any of the cities or wandering down the roads like my nord had good sense.

 

Moving on, things pan out as such:

 

I go to falkreath, talk to jarl siddgeir. Good so far. I do the radiant quest for a rare gift for the jarl. Usually it is some form of liquir, black-briar mead or something. That does fine as well. It is when the "Kill an bandit" quest comes up. I kill the bandit, peace of cake, even at level one! The problem is, I come back and jarl goes into some infinite loopy-do crap and keeps repeating himself over and over. Lines are "Teach them from stop paying me" and "You did good, here your reward". I know the last line is not right but you get the general idea. The jarl just keep repeating these lines over and over. No reward and the man just does not shut the hell up, but I am able to back out of the conversation, but when I go to finish the guest once again, the man gets chatty and repeats himself some more forever and ever.

 

Now I have read some of the problems, threads topics, and etc from all over the internet. Gone through each possibility, hoping you guys have one that I did not catch.

 

Things I have done:

1) Started a new game...twice. Each time, however, I went directly from riverwood and to falkreath so I could get the house earlier on. As far as I know, a level cap is not a problem except in dawnstar properties. So this should not be a issue.

2) Tried to forcefully end the quest with "Setobjectivecomplete" cheat. Quest ended, reward given, but just goes straight into become my thane.

3) Tried to reset the quest with "Resetquest" cheat. Same thing as before mention.

4) quit and reload...several times. Jarl is still just as chatty.

5) Even removed Hearthfire...quest end normally like it should, not repeating and got the reward. Went straight into becoming thane of Falkreath. Oh and reload Hearthfire...quest is finish but nothing happens. Stewards do not talk nor do jarls when I try to get the bloody house.

 

I have tried to go to Mortal and talk to Jarl Ravencrone and do the "Laid to rest" quest, still no option to buy the house but I have not persued it to heavily so maybe this is just lakeview buy issue. Still acts up, no courier comes around and the stewards saids zip about having a plot of land for 5000g's.

 

I know hearthfire is installed, I think...pretty sure, except when I uninstall it because I can go to the venders and see Straw and Goats Horns for sales. However, when I looked for the childrens that are new npc's for adoping for dlc like the girl in whiterun that begs infront of the temple, "Lucia" I think...I cannot find her anywhere. I looked up her schedule and followed it religiously myself...no temple, no inn, and no bed appearances. So maybe the dlc is only halfway working?

 

I do have mods installed, but I have both activated and deactiavted them and then played around to see if there was one particular mod causing trouble but picking randomly to play with at a time. So I have played with Skyrim with just the two dlcs and then just with hearthfire as the only outsides add-ons.

I excepted one may rumble with another, so my original plan was to get the house built, do tons of savings, and play with each mod and groups of mods to see what I like as additions to the house.

 

Now I have played with all the mods and turned off all of them, because some do say to wait until after you have built the house. Also some of these are the ones I played with a year ago so I know they work well.

 

I think that is it...please someone tell me I am not the only one or have something I can do that I have not found or thought of.

 

The only thing I have not done is uninstall the game and reinstall it completely...not sure it that will do anthing really.

Hearthfire is riddled with issues. I have been all over the internet looking for answers to bugs that kept popping up in the DLC. I finally figured out the best way to remove it without hurting my ongoing game but as far as fixes to the issues, there are none, I spent quite a long time searching for answers to the problems I was having, and there just aren't any good explanations or solutions. I sacrificed two kids and one and a half houses because of the glitches and bugs. My advice to you is dump the DLC and move on. If you do, just do this. Remove all mods pertaining to Hearthfire (if you miss one the game will CTD at the start) go in to your data area in the opening screen and uncheck the Hearthfire ESM file. If you want just delete it and Steam will reinstall it after you do a "verify cache integrity check". That way you start clean with the DLC. Start your game and do a fresh save then get out. I did this and the game remained intact from where I was. Sorry to be a bearer of bad news but until there is a reasonable fix for all the issues that seemed to be attached to this DLC this is the only solution I found. Also, I tried the unofficial patch but no fixes there.

Hi.i have a serious problem.i have downloaded the hearthfire and im sure i have done everything right but when i want to start the game it does'nt even go to the main menu and pop out of the game.i really need help.thank you and (sorry bcause im not so good in english)
