Plugin crashing game on load any idea's which one?

I have what i am almost certain is a mod that for some reason is not allowing me to remove or add mods during the game.

As soon as i try to load up a saved game with plug in's removed or added from whats in the save Morrowind crashes to the desktop.

 

I have a lot of plugins, if anyone knows of one that has caused behaviour like this under any circumstance please tell me so i can have a better chance of finding it before I lose too much sleep :)

 

I am in the process of trial and error as far as saving and loading goes to try and find the offending one, however it seems to only happen after i've gotten a few hours (short way) into the game.

 

Here is a list of the ones i'm using or have had installed: (Note i realise some of these conflict, i am only using those that don't show any conflicts together.) Its a long list but the top most sections are the probably conflicts due to size and the fact i've had them since the problem began. If you could just scan the upper bits the lower sections are less important, thanks in advance.

Okay, I'm confused... does your game crash upon, or shortly after loading it, or does it crash "after a few hours..." into your gameplay?

 

If your crashes are happening on startup, then yes, I would say you have a conflict. If it happens "after a few hours" I would say you're somewhat fortunate that you can play MW for a few hours with only one CTD.

 

If you want to determine which plug-in may be causing your problems, my advice (Thanks Stampede!) is to start a brand new game without a single plug-in loaded. Add one plug in at a time, until you get the CTD. Eliminate the last plug-in installed, as this now becomes your chief suspect. Load your next plug-in and continue loading them until you get problems, then eliminate the last plug-in and on and on you go.

 

Lastly, I will tell you that I had some kind of problem with Witchgirl Adventure myeself, but I don't remember clearly what it was... All I can say is that I HAD it at one point, and now I DON'T. I'd yank that one first.

It crashes straight away, however this didn't seem to happen when i tried to find the faulty mod in seya neen

 

Thank you both i will try. I have tried adding and removing 5 mods at a time and saving from a saved game without any plugins to find the problem but nothing happened. This was done in seya neen without travelling around or moving at all.

 

So i'm assuming it only occurs when you either load another area, switch area's or after a few hours of gameplay or are outside of the start town.

 

I will try testing outside of seya neen but if the problem only happens after a while of having it loaded or under certain conditions finding it is going to be a nightmare :) It'll be easy to assume the wrong one is causing the conflict .

 

I'll try witchgirl first, as this is my 12th restart i'll just do the main quest first so i can finally get it outta the way heh.

Anyone else have any problems with any mods?

I had this problem when I played "Isles of the Dead". It didn't happen right away, as I was able to play through most of the quest. I seem to recall, it happened after I loaded a new plugin to check out. My plan was to go back to the Isles, and finish the quest at a later time. The gamekept crashing, even after I removed the new plugin. It didn't make a lot of sense, since the new mod was a house, no where near Seyda Neen or the Isles. I could never play that saved game again.

 

Have you tried TESAME? That may give you some clue as to what is going on. Good Luck.

It was indeed isle of the dead, its one i've had loaded almost since I first played morrowind. Finally i can play the game with plugins! :)

 

I might send an email to the author of it, shame as it sounded good.

I think the author is from Germany. According to his web sight he is working on an update for the German version, and will eventually update the English version. It was one of the best quest mods I'd seen. Hopefully he follows through with his plans.
