910doSixty4 Posted February 20, 2009 Share Posted February 20, 2009 Think this would be a good idea if any1 wants to act on it, Add a new door in the History Museum and the subway under it, Raiders are trying to tunnel their way into underworld, and they dig themselves into a caved in area inside the museum of history, maybe the medieval wing, and you could add some real Knight armor and stuff along with Medieval weaponry and it'll be entirely story savvy! I suck at modding atm though I can only do basic weapon tweaks, So whoever thinks they can do it, mod away. Maybe even add a whole wing dedicated to a modders whole database of modded weapons? name it the History of ~Insert modder name here~ Let the self indulgence begin! dragonpen61 Posted February 21, 2009 Share Posted February 21, 2009 I like the idea but I suggest that you define where the Raiders are in relation to the medieval and other possible surviving displays. Are the raiders going to use medieval weapons and armor or just ignore them, which might be easier to do. Raiders with medieval armour and weapons means more modding, new textures etc. Could you use also World War Two weapons and other stuff from a WWII exhibition. Tommy-guns, steel helmets, pearl handled Colt .45s or even an old Willys Jeep with a big old Browning Heavy Machine firing .05 calibre bullets.In the real world display guns in museums are made harmless but this is just a game. How about early or prototype robots to be activated and used. Perhaps an armoured powered moonsuit to use as crude power armour but with a basic laser cutter that can be used as a close range weapon. Also how many security robots and turrets are active in discovered areas? What other resources are there such as Nuka Cola vending-machines, first aid kits and security gun lockers? Are there radroaches which in Fallout 3 seem to have an amazing ability to get into closed off areas (as do other critters who can not open doors). Much of this can be based on current Fallout 3 stuff such as a display of prewar clothes on life like mannequins, a good condition three wheeled car that can not be driven or even some more modern weapons like an assault rifle. 910doSixty4 Posted February 21, 2009 Author Share Posted February 21, 2009 Well I was thinking of it around half - to fullsize of the Museum of technology, thinking of putting the displays behind glass enclosed door's or something and making them only accessible through the custodian key (which is on a Raider boss) thinking that having the Raider boss the only one to use the museums weapons and armor would be prudent cause he would wanna keep all the best stuff for himself. Maybe there will be alot of Radroaches (they did dig in through the subway)...and maybe a room excessively filled with them, possibly that room has a major gas leak with lots of generators... But I'm thinking the museum wing should be split into a few parts, Food Court, Maintenance, Tunnels, and Display Room(s). Maintenance would count for security too, could add an option there to shut down all security Robots/Turrets, Which I'm thinking will mostly be composed of slightly powered up Robobrains and Protectrons...maybe a few psychotic Mister Handy's. Put a bunch of leveled raiders in there with quick new Combat shotguns and assault rifles (maybe name them after their gang I.E Pyromaniac Combat Shotguns etc) same skin, different damage and rate of fire, maybe something special every few raiders (combat shotgun that shoots fire etc) as for the number of display rooms I was thinking 4, WW2, Current era (1950's) Future plans, and ~yet to be thought of~. Maybe you could have each gang center around a specific weapon dicipline? one does grenade's and get's close so the other's use rifles and shotties and the other use's stealth and hand to hand and few weapon's and the other's use scaved energy weapons?
