Heres my best suggestion, get a daedric tanto and enchant that. The best short blade I can think of without cheating. So dont be a cheater and go to the daedric ruins close to vivic, (come on, i cant think of the name off hand, let alone pronounce it) because they have like 2 or 3 daedric tantos there. You go there for a morag tong quest as well.

what, i dont cheat tho.

No, but _it_ does. He's bragging about a weapon he cheated and made with the construction set, not in the game! Not only that, but he can't even cheat well!

He hasn't figured out that you need a cast on strikes enchantment for damage/paralyze. So he's got his fortify skill, but all those nice enchantments are absolutely useless!

its not really a cheat when every thing dies as soon if you touch it with a standard longsword and i have made it when i got to lvl 70

So because you already kill everything easily its ok to cheat? Just a tip, stop cheating with lvling trick, or for that matter, never even reach that lvl. It takes all the fun out of the game. I'm not even going to start on the fact you took the time to make a cheap weapon in the construction set. I've seen cheating, but thats some dedicated nOObishness.

Just a note, I dont think crit stikes work with cast when strikes damage. B/c cast when strike cannot crit and it hits first, thus alerting the npc to your characters presance. So if you are trying to do sneaky crit kills, keep an unenchanted weapon at your side. Personally, my favorite enchantment is absorb health. It costs just as much as damage health but you get the added bonus of receiveing the health every hit! I'm not quite sure how much you can fit on a deadric tanto but its woth a try! :D

Okay, enough about cheating guys!

Problem with some weapons enchantment is the creatures that reflect. Hitting with a paralyse weapon ain't so good when YOU are the one that ends up paralysed. Choose your enchantment with that in mind! Also I would be tempted not to create an enchantment that already exists on the game weapons (lots of paralyse stuff in Bloodmoon for example).

(Slightly off topic but a constant restore strength item is quite helpful for dealing with those irritating greater bonewalkers.)

I think you people should stop worrying about those extremele case-specific creatures you meet only on rare occasions. If course Bonewalkers will zap your Strength, and some deadria can reflect magic sometimes. But that's no reason not to just do what you want with your weapon, one which you probly use against everything from crimelords to game rats. Driving yourself crazy with specifics and just enchant it with something straight-forward.

Besides by now you've probly already ditched that dagger for some kinda Dai-Katana or something right? ^_^

  • 2 weeks later...

if you don't specifically want a dagger, just a short blade, then i would recommend the daedric (dai?)katana. it's one handed and has a reasonable enchant rating (don't remember what it is exactly).

I have one that I enchanted with Damage Health 43 - 71 (the numbers may not be exact but it was 40 something and 70 something ^_^ ). it's QUITE effective.

You'll want a golden saint (or another high level) soul for it though so it doesn't run out of charge too fast. Damage health goes through enchant points like mad.
