The Vampire Remis

Torn

Recommended Posts

A black cloaked figure lurched over the now lifeless body of it's nightly prey. The skin of both beings now chalk white as the vampire Remis had drained the life force from the poor humans body. He lay still now, fading into the darkness that over came the body as he slipped into the realm of death.

Seeing that his feeding was over, for the moment, Remis rose from the dying man and, wiping the excess blood from his lip continued down the dusty pathway towards his next destination. He could see the shadow of the guard towers of Balmora, silhouetted against the night sky as he continued onwards.

Remis continued onward, but suddenly his heart leaped with excitement. His blood began to boil with an intense flame within him and he couldn't help but gasp for breathe as he pulled his arm over his chest where his heart had, upon a time, once beat. He could hear a heart beat, a new heart beat, a fresh heart beat. Almost as if it were hunting the vampire, it seemed to be moving with the Deathless One as he continued along the dark winding trail.

Feeling the heart beat quicken much like Remis had started, he began to wonder. He is close, he thought, continueing on, hoping he didn't rouse too much of a suspicion. Grasping the cloak around him he rounded a final corner that ended sharply shielding the vampire from his pursuer's view for a moment as he disappeared behind a rock that blocked the corner.

Leaping up in the cover of the boulders he awaited his follower. He wouldn't kill him right away, there may be some information to squeeze from his puny mortal soul.
